Fabulous family weekend

Celebrating our beautiful mother of the young age of 93!! This place knocked it out the park.. the hosts were amazing, the house was stocked with ALL your basics needs… they thought of everything… down to zip lock bags for left overs!! We had 11 people stay there over night very comfortably..and there was room for more if needed. Best place we ever stayed at!! Thank you the this opportunity for our family to make beautiful memories!!

Fabulous lakehome getaway!

Exceptional newer home in a quiet, scenic setting with lots of birds and wildlife. The home was laid out well well to either accomodate if you wanted to be together or have private time. I appreciated the written directions in the house that explained how things worked. I would heartily recommend this place and I would definately go back.

Fabulous, serene modern lakeside home

Had a wonderful stay at this extremely quiet and serene modern lake home. The home was laid out well so that you could gather together or have quiet time alone. The kitchen was well furnished with any appliance or utensil you would need. I appreciated how well things were labeled and the written instructions for the tv. Saw lots of birds and other wildlife. I would heartily recommend this place and I would certainly come back.

Beautiful location and house

The location is beautiful! The house is big and its a great amenity to be able to park in the garage. The house is supplied with everything you need for the kitchen and there is a good selection of games. There were only 4 of us but the place could easily handle a family vacation of 10-12.

Perfect in everything!

We rented this property for our friends Xmas getaway we do every year with 4 couples. I have rented many VRBO properties but none have been as perfect as this property. The kitchen was stocked with every pan and utensil you would need but also had foil, plastic wrap, baggies and most spices. The beds were all very soft and comfortable, each TV came with instructions of how to use and the lower level had a large seating area and TV to watch football. The communication prior to and after the stay was great, I would easily rent from them again. A summer stay would be amazing on this lake.

We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back. The house was very clean and it was staged perfectly. It looked as though no one lived in yet it had all the amenities needed. They provided white fluffy towels for showering and nice bedding in all areas. The Lake was great also. Lots of fish, but more importantly, a great sand bar to settle in and let the kids play. The owner was very welcoming and kind. We would definitely come back. We got our moneys worth!

Bachelorette party R&R

I hosted a bachelorette party for my best friend with a total of 10 people. This house had more than enough space for everyone to stay and everyone to gather on both levels and outside! We rented a boat from Toontastic all weekend and really enjoyed ourselves! The house is a quick drive from Carlos creek winery and 20 minutes from Alexandria. In a quiet neighborhood on a dead end road so rarely we heard cars drive by! The bay we were in was quiet also. Will be recommending this house to friends and family!

A Special Thanksgiving

Our family came together from Iowa and Minnesota for Thanksgiving at Birch Cove. We wanted to do something special and fun as our mom had recently passed. What a beautiful home to stay in; absolutely perfect. We enjoyed going to the downtown Christmas parade, shopping thrift stores, Lake Carlos Winery and finding scenic trails to walk every morning. From the living room and kitchen windows we spotted a fox getting a drink of water from the lake and an eagle flying overhead. Amazing! Thanks for giving our family such a beautiful place to create wonderful memories.

Wanted to love.....

The open floor plan & decor are aesthetically pleasing but overall it lacked cleanliness. Food particles/crumbs in drawers, laundry soap leaking in the cabinet, smears on appliances, dirty coffee maker, dog hair/previous guest hair all over the master bthrm floor, & multiple beds had dog hair & dark hair all over the place....pillows, throw pillows, duvet cover, & in between the sheets. The amount of cleaning I had to during my stay just to feel comfortable was ridiculous. When I reached out to the guest contact there was no apology, only advised me on where I could find other blankets & sheets. The blankets in the basement corner basket were also covered in dog hair. I spent alot of time washing linens instead of spending time w: my family.My daughter's brand new white Nike socks were black after walking around the house for a couple of hours, which should not have occurred if the floors were actually cleaned. I felt like my issues were dismissed especially since there was no apology, just an "oh dear" & when I shared a photo of the socks, there was no reply.Overall, the cleaning I had to do because their cleaners didn't do their job coupled w/ the uneasiness/unrest, & stress this caused an apology & a discount should've been given.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We take cleanliness seriously and acknowledge the dog hair was a significant issue. As a result, we’ve updated our pet policy to limit guests to two pets and invested in additional cleaning tools, like a better mop and lint rollers, to improve the cleaning process, especially for pet-friendly stays.- Your stay was the last of the season, and a deep clean was already scheduled for the weekend after your visit. That said, we’ll ensure these details are addressed more consistently moving forward. As a gesture of goodwill, we extended an offer of a late check-out.We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Peaceful and relaxing stay!

The property is lovely and just as described in the listing. The check-in/check-out process was simple and the owners were responsive to questions and requests. The kitchen was well stocked with all the tools and appliances necessary to cook meals. There were plenty of sheets and towels too. The basement bedrooms got quite chilly so blankets were needed in that level. Our family enjoyed the laid-back vibe of this unit. We were far enough away from town to feel a bit secluded, yet close enough to town to grab a pizza, pick up some groceries or do a bit of shopping. The kayaks and canoe were greatly appreciated. We didn't have the best of luck with the paddle boat, but maybe we just didn't know how to operate it properly. The fishing off the dock was superb. The grands were entertained there for hours. Thanks so much for dropping off the extra life jackets. With 6 adults in the house, we definitely needed those larger size jackets. Lastly, we spent lots of time on the back porch visiting, playing games, and enjoying the view. It might have been our favorite spots of the home. The only suggestions I have are minor ones. We could have used another couple of boxes of tissues and extra paper towels during our stay. Perhaps those items were available, but I just didn't locate them. Travelers should know there is no "beach area" for swimming at this property. That was not essential for our trip, but worth noting if your family likes to swim daily.
