About this property

Beautiful Home on all sports Lake Bellaire. Boat to Torch Lake

Come vacation with family and friends on 100' of private hard sand beach on the waters of Lake Bellaire. My family has been a part of Bellaire for generations. This is absolutely the best recreation lake in the area. It's not too cold, too rocky, or too rough. Our property boasts a hard sandy bottom from shore to at least the end of the dock, shallow enough to set your little one down with the water level only coming up to their laps. We always put our chairs in the water and enjoy the calm and not overly cold water. Guests will enjoy beautiful sunrises and enjoy the wonderful recreational waters of Lake Bellaire, Grass River, Clam Lake, and Torch Lake. Boat to the infamous Torch Lake sand bar or all the way to Elk Rapids if you so choose. We have a mooring for your boat. Enjoy lakeside fires, listening to the loons, large sitting deck, lakeside three season porch, fireplace, fishing, skiing, tubing, golfing, biking, hiking, championship golf, dining, bars, breweries and wineries. We have a large yard for the kids to run around. The town of Bellaire is a quick ride up the river or down the road. The property has spectacular views from the interior and exterior. It is a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home with enough beds to comfortably sleep 10. Upstairs, the master bedroom suite offers a private bath with shower. You can also sit on a private balcony overlooking the lake. The kitchen has all the amenities you could need to serve even the largest groups. The living space is very open and comfortable for large groups to mingle and includes a beautiful stone fireplace. We also have a small den for alone time.

Charming, calm and center
Nestled off the street, the charming cabin was a rare find. House is plenty big for a group of 10. The following is a brief overview of each room. -The kitchen has all the charm of your grandparents home from the 70-80’s. It was perfectly quaint with all the supplies you need to bake zucchini bread to prepare marinated chicken on the grill. Great breeze through the house when front (kitchen) windows and back family room windows are open. -dinning area/family room: perfect place to gather for the night after the fire is done. The large sectional is comfortable and the TV is just what you need (we tried not to turn it on but Grandpa loves his MSNBC). Great stock of board games in the built-in hutch. Thank you! Sorry was a blast! -Full bath and half bath on first floor. You will go back in time in the yellow tub! Clean and perfect. -Two large double/queen bed rooms on the first floor. Beds were reported to me as comfortable. The one bedroom is outfitted with its own window AC unit. -Pass through twin bed room. The kids slept fine there but was quite warm despite the ceiling fan and a floor fan. There is no central AC but in addition to the one window AC unit there is a first floor and second floor AC until that does a great job. After the first day, we kept these off and just opened up the windows and enjoyed the August breeze. -Second floor primary bedroom: large bedroom with two queens. The primary queen is comfortable. My review has been cut off here but a great place

Great house - closer to the water than shown
If you want to check out Torch Lake and the surrounding areas, this house on Bellaire is perfect. Overall, great place for our group: 6 adults, 1 teen, 1 tween. Plenty of space for alone time as well as together. Some things to note: 1. The house is closer to the water than in the pics which was perfect. Not that a flat walk would've been an issue but it's way better than shown. 2. It's the calmest lake of the chain. Great for boating with kids and/or grandparents even when Torch is too rough. 3. Mooring buoy is easy and the norm up there due to depth and wind. You can still get over to the dock to pick-up/drop-off - meaning only 1 person needs to get wet. 4. If you do have a boat, getting gas isn't the most convenient. You either have to go up the Intermediate River (closer) or over to the junction of Clam & Torch (farther via Grass River and Clam Lake). Not the biggest deal but it's not the quickest run so plan accordingly. Bottom line: Great house and owners - to the point we talked about making this a regular trip (vs trying new places each year).

Beautiful and relaxing
The property is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with perfect views of the sunrise over the lake. The kitchen was well stocked and the pictures did not do the house justice, much bigger and more open than expected. The only drawback was a problem with the septic system that limited water use/ request to not use the washer/dryer because of the septic system.

My relatives have been a part of Bellaire since "Bellaire became Bellaire" Generations of us have been married at the Methodist church in town and have been active members of the community for over a century. We currently reside in Richmond, Va but it has been Mark's and my life's dream to retire up here one day, and purchasing this home has brought us one step closer to fulfilling this dream. Until then, we would like to share our home with you.

Why they chose this property

I've been coming "up north" from Shelby Township to visit my family since I was a little girl. I have been on and experienced a lot of the lakes in the area and in my opinion Lake Bellaire is the best. The lake bottom is hard sand and continues to be shallow for a distance far enough to hold a wiffle ball game. Put your lawn chairs in the lake instead of ON the lawn to keep cool without worrying about being swept away by rough waters. Pull your skiers or tubers on a lake that is isn't overly congested. Do all this and still be able to boat to a restaurant or any other lake in the "chain of lakes"

What makes this property unique

We have a secure buoy to tie up a boat. A long dock with a sitting platform at the end for morning coffee and afternoon beverages. The lake has a hard sandy bottom and shallow enough to play frisbee, volleyball, football or baseball. We have a small beach for building sandcastles. The view is amazing and rehabilitating! The town of Bellaire is a short drive and will become one your favorite little towns in all of Michigan.
