The electrical system is in poor shape. Primary bedroom door is literally hanging off the jamb. Pet dander caused sinus issues the entire stay. Host/Owner is renting a unit that is not well-maintained and needs serious repairs.

Thank you for your feedback—we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We take all guest concerns seriously and would like to clarify a few points. Although your delayed arrival was due to airline changes, we refunded a non-refundable night as a courtesy. During your stay, when you noted the exterior lighting for the patio, we promptly upgraded lighting, added fixtures and string lights, and provided complimentary wine and snacks. The home is in a “Dark Sky” community, which limits excessive outdoor lighting. After departure, we addressed a hinge on the primary bedroom door and maintain professional carpet, tile, and air duct cleanings. We’re sorry to hear of sinus discomfort; seasonal allergens are common in Arizona. We strive to respond quickly to guest needs and appreciate the opportunity to continue improving our home.
The perfect place for a quiet getaway. The best part is the neighborhood. Everybody says hi if you go for a walk. The only thing I heard after 10pm was owls. You have everything you need within 10 mins despite being on the far outskirts of Phoenix. And if you do have something to do in the Phoenix Metro, you’re still within 30 mins of half of it. The house itself was nice. Great split layout. Very clean and modern. The patio was nice and I’d imagine the pool would be great if it was warmer during our stay. My only complaint would be that the pillows weren’t the best. Otherwise it was fantastic.

Trevor,
Thank you for booking with us! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the quiet and friendly neighborhood of Peralta Trails. Gold Canyon is on the outskirts of the Phoenix area, but definitely worth it for the dark quiet starry nights. We are glad you found the short drive to the Phoenix Metro convenient for your stay and you enjoyed the clean modern feel of our home.
We have upgraded the pillows since your stay and apologize for any discomfort this may have caused. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to hosting many more Guests in the future.

From the owner: "Jim, thank you for booking with us. We are glad you chose our home to stay at for your volleyball getaway. We trust you got a good night's rest on our new beds, which had plenty of linens, plenty of warm water for showering, and a safe place to stay in the gated community of Peralta Trails. We hope you can spend more time next time to enjoy the pool that overlooks the beautiful Superstition Mountain backdrop and the spacious kitchen to enjoy a family meal."
Beautiful, peaceful spacious home with relaxing outdoor set up!
My cousin visited AZ for the first time to celebrate her college graduation and we had the most relaxing, peaceful, wonderful stay. The house set up made making meals, watching movies and doing pool time so relaxing and enjoyable. We also did two day trips to tube the Salt River and check out Sedona and having this peaceful, lovely home to come back to was really relaxing. It’s private, has everything you need and very nicely decorated. We also loved the beds - super comfortable! Thanks for a great stay!

From the owner: "Marie, we are so thrilled to hear about your relaxing and comfortable stay at our home. Thank you for your kind words. It sounds like an amazing trip to celebrate your cousin's college graduation, and we are glad you enjoyed our property."
Beautiful property and everything was just as described. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the property manager was very responsive to our questions. We would definitely stay again.
This house was perfect for a small family if you are looking for something near the Superstition Mts for hiking. Clean, comfortable, and near hiking trails. Little back yard patio and pool were great. We did not swim as it was too cold, but in summer it would be great. Kitchen was well stalked, and it is dog friendly. We did not bring our pooches but it is set up for them. Check in was easy. We would use it again if in the area.

Quiet, Cozy, and Beautiful
We checked in to this adorable home perfect for a couples retreat. We enjoyed morning walks around the friendly community and enjoyed the gorgeous mountains views. The home was clean, freshly painted, and cleaned with new upgraded furniture and bedding. We could easily see our family gathering here for a holiday! Quaint backyard with a nice pool to cool off in and the wonderful dark sky community for star gazing. The Property Manager, we responsive and left wonderful hospitality gifts for us upon arrival. We love Gold Canyon for is proximity to the city without being in the city. We would definitely book this home again!
Everything was great until the shower. Barely enough hot water to wash ones hair. Heard ir might be a Pinal county thing. I didn't care so much but, my wife a daughters sure did.

Nice location, Smelly House
Pros: The location is great! Nestled in a gated neighborhood. Traffic is a little loud being on the Main Street into the neighborhood, but wasn’t a deal breaker. The house has a nice layout with the master in the back with a full bathroom, comfortable bed, and plenty of storage space. The other two bedrooms are at the front of the house next to the stop sign. There is a bathroom next to those rooms as well. The beds were comfortable. They had almost every utensil / amenity you would need. There were a few board games and a giant tv in the living room with a Roku.
Cons: from the moment we entered the house, it smelled of dog urine. Even though we knew it was pet friendly, we have stayed at other pet friendly locations that didn’t smell. I text the owner after check in & they stated it was a “pet friendly house.” I asked if they had a carpet shampooer I could use to shampoo the carpet in the front room (where the doggy door was and the majority of the smell was coming from) thinking it would make it better, it did not. The carpet needs to be replaced in order to eliminate the many pet stains. I was a little surprised at how dirty the rest of the house was as well. Most of the dishes had to be cleaned before using, the baseboards, trim, light switches, & vents were covered in dirt. The sheets were microfiber and pilling. The pillows did not have pillow protectors on them & were stained with unknown bodily fluids. We pay a cleaning fee - we expected a cleaner house.

Hi Thomas, we truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. Your feedback is essential to us, and we've relayed your comments to the homeowner, who would like to address the following:-Throughout your stay, we were highly responsive and receptive to your concerns. Upon learning about the issue with the barbecue, prompt action was taken to rectify the situation. A replacement barbecue was promptly delivered, and upon further assessment of the odor concern, we went above and beyond by offering to shampoo the carpet themselves the next morning. Transparency was maintained throughout the process, discussing the potential temporary effects of carpet shampooing and attentively considering your suggestion to purchase an air purifier.-In addition to addressing specific concerns raised during your stay, it's important to highlight our ongoing efforts to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for all guests. The property undergoes thorough cleaning before and after each guest's stay, with meticulous attention given to frequently touched surfaces such as light switches. Routine maintenance tasks, including annual repainting of baseboards and regular replacement of air filters, are diligently carried out to ensure a fresh and inviting environment. Additionally, we ensures that all dishes are meticulously cleaned and sanitized, offering the option of paper plates for added convenience and peace of mind.-Moreover, we are committed to ensuring the utmost comfort for guests, with new beds and predominantly new pillows provided. Any older or discolored pillows will be promptly replaced to maintain the highest standard of comfort for future guests. We strive to ensure an exceptional stay for all our guests and eagerly anticipate this property hosting many more satisfied guests, as reflected in our numerous positive reviews.
