We have been coming to this rental every April and September for several years now we absolutely love it. The location is perfect, water location is perfect for relaxing in the river. The house is very comfortable and has all you need to relax. We really enjoy it here. Every trip we can’t wait to go back!!!

Location was awesome. Could not ask for a better spot on the river. The water was nice, not too deep, shade and or sun if you wanted it. House, not so much. Was really loud and not ideal for 6 adults and a baby.
We stayed in the Bohemian for five nights and we loved it! The house is as pictured and was very fresh, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen had nearly everything we needed for our meals and nice linens were provided. The yard is awesome, and the riverfront is easy to get in and out of for tubing or just relaxing with chairs. Happy Customers!

The location of this property is great. It's just a short walk down to the water from the house which was very convenient.

Awesome Location!
Just a few steps to the water and tube rental is next door. The kids were able to play in the water while we were able to relax! The house is a cozy bungalow as described and there was plenty of room for 5 of us. As stated, the spiral staircase is steep and tight, but I was able to use it and I’m older. Our contact was readily available and any questions or issues we had were handled promptly. We would stay again.

Thank you for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We just installed a new AC unit for the downstairs that you can enjoy on your next visit!
My family had an amazing time staying here. The property is right on the river as advertised with a great spot to hang out by the river- nice rock bottom with little to no mud. The house was as advertised. The only (slight issue) we had was with some rather rude neighbors next door who left their beer cans in the river and river bank.

Cute little river bungalow
We had a great experience at the house. Perfect for a girls trip with 5 ladies, we all had our own bed. If it were separate families or couples just keep in mind that all the beds/bedrooms are on the 1st floor so there isn’t a lot of privacy in that situation (just FYI). AC works great! Had all the dishes we needed. Plenty of outdoor seating and even provided 4 fold up chairs for river soaking. Just two lots down from Lone Star Icehouse for rentals/shuttle/bite to eat. It was a 5.5 float from the furthest drop off back to the house. Perfect stay! Will be back!

Location was as expected.Linens and accommodations - quality of the mattresses and the cleanliness/quality/quantity of linens was undesirable.Toiletries were minimal - a small bar of soap per bathroom; nothing else. One absorbent kitchen towel, one non-absorbent tea-towel. One roll of paper towels. One small dish soap - NO OTHER CLEANING SUPPLIES (nothing to wipe down/sanitize stove top or counters with.)No cleaning supplies in the bathrooms.
We enjoyed our stay at the bohemian bungalow. Plenty of beds and comfortable. Loved the character of the house and bottom and second story decks. It had everything we needed and had a beautiful view of the river. It’s a shallow spot on the river but still nice to just sit in and enjoy. We floated from our house down to Roy’s shuttle and had them shuttle us up river then we just floated back down to our house. We will be back.
Overall our 2 night stay was great. The river is in the back, such a beautiful view. Had mostly everything you need in the kitchen. I would just recommed a deep cleaning, we also had trouble flushing the bottom floor toilet but we had the upstairs restroom. Also, there was so many people crossing in the backyard of the property. It wasnt so private that out of nowhere so many people were crossing in the back, jumping the wire fence.

Spring Break 2025
Unfortunately….The home needs tons of repairs inside and outside not mention on the description. Some light fixtures not working and bathrooms showers not working properly. The A/C units not working properly and outdoor amenities mostly broken including picnic table. Very uncomfortable stay! Don’t be mislead by online photos would not recommend future stays to friends or family. Water access was the only highlight.

Hi Carlos, we're sorry to hear your stay didn’t meet your expectations. After reviewing your feedback, we reached out to the homeowner, who wanted to share the following:-We conducted a thorough inspection of all five mini-split A/C units and showers and confirmed that they are functioning efficiently with no issues.-We also assessed the picnic table and confirmed it is in excellent condition with no signs of damage. Additionally, there have been no reports of issues from previous or subsequent guests.-We did find a burned-out light bulb, which has since been replaced. We truly wish you had reached out during your stay so we could have promptly addressed any concerns. We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to ensure a great experience for all our guests.

needs a clean
the location is beautiful. We were there off season so it was quiet. The pictures make the place look better. Porch is peeling paint, The matresses or foundation are horrid in both the main rooms. Bunk mattresses okay.
Kitchen area is lacking any true utensils which consist of place settiings for four made out of very cheap material . Minimal cooking supplies like salt and pepper. Shelfs are open so not sure how clean dishes etc are. Dust visible. windows dirty. Furnishing are old but okay. The property manager was contacted since the key box kept saying to change the battery. She was responsive and addressed some cleaning issues as well. There are also some structure issues on the deck and platforms that hold minisplits rotting thru, and no railing on stairs going to the lower level outside. Loved the river, seeing animals and the view. Hopefully the new owners will put some TLC into the property, dosen't need to be the taj mal, just safe, clean and comfortable. Not sure the house has had a deep clean so desperatley needed. We could tell that someone had cleaned prior to us coming.

Great location but rental needs work.
Positive: the location is amazing and has extremely easy access to the river. It’s between 2 campsites so it can be a little noisy but that didn’t bother us.
Negatives: the rental needs a lot of work and a good scrubbing. There was mold in both upstairs ac unit vents. Additionally, mold was present in both bathrooms on the ceiling, edges of the bathroom, and window seal (upstairs). My son found candy wrappers next to the bunk beds upon arrival. The fire pit had beer cans and cigarette butts in it. The outside trashcan had chicken wrapping left in there so flies were everywhere. The bottom deck is rotting out and you can feel the wood straining as you walk on it. 1 grill was filthy and the other is rusted out beyond use. The sofa has many stains and had hair all over it. It would be an amazing stay with a good cleaning and some fresh paint.
The house has a lot of great potential but definitely needs work. If you’re just taking a trip with friends to drink and have a good time, this could be for you but I wouldn’t recommend it for a family trip.

Hi Mary, your review is greatly appreciated, and we're thankful for your time sharing your experience. Upon reviewing your feedback, we've connected with the homeowner, who wanted to address a few points:- Thank you for choosing to stay in our New Braunfels, Texas home and leaving a review, as guest feedback is vitally important to us and the success of our vacation rental business.- The property has undergone a thorough cleaning, ensuring all areas, including around the bunk beds, are spotless.- We didn’t see any mold on the A/C units as they are only about a year old, so it’s unlikely mold would be there. However, we still performed a precautionary check to maintain high air quality.- The outside trash can has been removed and replaced with a smaller ash can for guest use.- The bottom deck has been inspected and any rotten boards have been replaced to ensure safety.- We have a new grill that is only a few months old, and we've removed the older rusted grill. We ask that guests clean the grill after use to maintain its condition.- The sofa has been refreshed with clean cushions and pillows, and we've purchased new couch covers for easy removal and cleaning.- A baby gate has been installed at the top of the stairs, and additional rails have been added to enhance child safety. Our dedicated cleaner will personally oversee future cleanings to ensure that our high standards are consistently met.

Nice, but not family friendly.
There were no issues with the house. There could be a few minor fixes, caulking the water faucets and the bunkbed stepladder was broken(the kids had a very hard time getting up there), but I'm no expert. Friday morning one of the property owners of the land next door came up amd introduced themselves to us. He was very nice and said they would be having a big party with loud music on Saturday and Sunday. The very loud music started Friday night but no party. Saturday comes along and they have 2 HUGE speakers blaring music so loud. You could hear it down the river. They were good about making sure their party people parked on their land but some ended up on the land of this house. I mean if you want a party. Rent this house. It was not what we were expecting at all and that could be our fault. Again, the neighbor party people were very nice. They even told people to leave the rental property land because neither one of us knew who they were. If you want to go with your family and children are involved. This may not be the place for you.

Owner's response: "Vanessa, We are committed to making every guest experience enjoyable and being available for the guest when needed, we're sorry we fell short of your expectations.
- We wish you had brought the items you found to our attention, we were not aware of any repairs that were needed but will look into them.
- Regarding the music and noise from the party, we are happy to hear that the neighbor gave you a heads up so that you were aware they were going to have a party with so many people. Our property is not in a residential neighborhood, the property to the left is a company that rents tubes and serves food, and to the right of us is a camp that rents out bungalows and has a lot of people who want to enjoy the river. This time of year there are a lot of people who want to enjoy time with family and have fun, and this is the place to do it. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We are confident that future guests will have excellent stays! We will continue to strive for those 5-star experiences we know we can deliver."
This cabin was in such a great location for all that we wanted to do in the area. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. One day during our visit was really warm so we loved spending the day in the river. The second day of our trip was very chilly so we just went into Gruene to shop and explore. I noticed previous reviews complaining about the day campground next door. We quite enjoyed having live music to listen to while we were in the river and we absolutely LOVED being able to walk to their restaurant for lunch. We hope we can come back to stay again very soon!
