Welcome to Our Home in Oshkosh – “Close to Everything, Cozy and Full of Heart”
Hi there, and thank you for stopping by—we’re truly honored you’re considering our home for your stay in Oshkosh. That simple click to view our listing? It means more to us than you might think.
Let us tell you a little story...
This house has soul. She’s stood for over a century, filled with stories, laughter, and the kind of charm you only find in a true Wisconsin classic. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt it—that quiet warmth that instantly feels like a hug. We knew we had to care for her.
Since then, we’ve poured our hearts into gently updating her—most recently with a bright, welcoming new kitchen (it’s our favorite place to sip coffee in the morning) and a newly paved driveway that makes coming home feel just right.
We’re tucked away in a peaceful neighborhood where the mornings are quiet, the neighbors wave hello, and the breeze off Lake Winnebago carries a little bit of magic. While the lake isn’t directly in our backyard (it peeks through just beyond our neighbor’s home), you’re only five minutes from its shoreline—and just three minutes from a beautiful Fox River launch. Whether you love casting a line, paddling into the sunset, or just watching sunlight dance on the water, there’s a little serenity waiting for you here.
What’s Nearby Downtown Oshkosh – Just half a mile away, filled with cozy cafés, friendly shops, fresh markets, and hidden local gems we think you’ll love.
Inside the Home You’ll find three snug and welcoming bedrooms and 1.5 sparkling-clean bathrooms (the full bath has a tub—perfect for a long soak after exploring). We’ve tried to think of everything, including:
Fast, reliable Wi-Fi
A Smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime & Hulu
A security system for peace of mind
Thoughtful little touches that say: “you’re home”
A Little Note from Us I work in luxury hospitality (I’m a Senior Sales Manager with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts), so making guests feel special is second nature. But this home? This one’s personal. We’ve created a space that feels not just comfortable, but truly cared for. A space to exhale, reconnect, and feel held.
One Small But Important Request To preserve the peaceful spirit of our home, we kindly ask that guests have a consistent 5-star review history on VRBO. And just so there’s no confusion—VRBO only allows bookings paid through their platform, so we’re unable to accept employer-paid bookings by check or outside invoice. Thank you for understanding.
We’re so grateful you’re here. And if you decide to stay, we’d be thrilled to welcome you—fresh biscotti waiting on the counter, just for you.
With warmth and care, Your Hosts in Oshkosh

Thank you Deborah! It was so incredible having you at the house and was just divine!
Alisa was the best host EVER! My coworker and I were in town for EAA Airventure and her place was super convenient as it was only a short drive to get to the grounds. The house was absolutely beautiful, clean, cozy, and welcoming. It's a historical house close to the lake, with gorgeous accents, we absolutely loved it! Alisa was really friendly and accomodating. She walked us through everything we needed to know for our stay, and gave us some great suggestions on where to eat the best food in town. I absolutely recommend her house to anyone looking to stay in Oshkosh and we'll for sure stay there next year for the Air show!
Absolutely loved my stay at Alisa’s VRBO home! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how spotless everything was—the house truly sparkles with cleanliness. The amenities exceeded our expectations: every convenience was thoughtfully provided, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. The house itself is bursting with charm, from the tasteful décor to those little touches that make a place extra special. You can tell Alisa takes genuine pride in her property and cares about her guests’ experience. She was wonderfully attentive throughout our stay, quick to answer questions and offer helpful suggestions. One of the highlights was Alisa’s fantastic knowledge of local restaurants. She made spot-on recommendations that helped us discover some great dining options we would have otherwise missed, enhancing our whole trip.Sleep and relaxation came easy thanks to the super comfortable furnishings. And the location is unbeatable for anyone attending the Oshkosh Airshow—just a short, convenient drive away, yet peacefully removed from the busiest crowds.I highly recommend Alisa’s home for anyone visiting the area. You’ll be delighted!
Our wonderful hostess shared her charming home with a view of the lake. Communication was great and we had a home tour upon arrival to help us settle in. We were able to work remotely by morning and tour by afternoon, enjoying the local restaurants and friendly residents of Oshkosh. Many , many thanks!

It was so wonderful having you here with us and please, anytime that your plans bring you to Oshkosh, our home is your home!
Older home with lots of character, nicely decorated, and very clean. A couple of quirks that add to its charm. It contains everything you need and the location is close to downtown. Owner and property manager are awesome and respond in a very timely manner!
This house was just what we needed for the airshow. It's an older home with lots of character. Comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed. Great location across from the lake, close to airport, shopping and restaurants. The only drawback to this home is there is only one full bath with shower in a tight space. Tall people may not fit well. However, there's a half bath on the main floor. Fantastic hospitality by the homeowner, and the property manager was very responsive. Both as good as you can get!

Hi Sam,
Thank you so much for the wonderful review and while this response comes a tad delayed (yikes and I am so sorry), you were wonderful to confer with and really enjoyed having you at the house. You'll have to come and visit the next time you are in Oshkosh ads significant renovations took place - new kitchen, driveway, landscaping - and many more updates!
Thanks Sam!
About the host
Hosted by Alisa Kimble
Hi! My name is Alisa Kimble and this is my beautiful lake home. This was my very first home purchase and is filled with so much love and care. It means so very much to me and I am incredibly proud to own "her". When I purchased the home in 2008, I came to understand that the previous owners had lived here for 50 plus years and were so caring and loved this home very much. She is built so strong and I believe I am intended to be "her" caretaker. I of course put my own stamp on the home and with much love, sweat, tears and of course, money, brought her to 2022 expectations.
I love coming to a home that is charming, connects with my heart, is cozy with incredible comforts and furnishings but has all of the modern amenities that I need and have come to expect.
I am further blessed as I have been a Senior Sales Manager with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for many years. I understand the importance of customer service, efficiency, expectation, excellence and anticipating my guests' needs. I handle my home in the same manner - the best products, immaculate and welcoming hospitality.
I am equally particular with who stays in my home but know that I will ensure that every step is taken for a seamless experience and will do my utmost to exceed your expectations.
Thank you and with my kindest regards,
Alisa
Why they chose this property
This home has always held such a special place in my heart. I knew the moment that I saw "her", she was magical. The first time I walked inside, it smelled like cookies and felt like home. It's a place where friends come together to make memories, laughter to be shared and the moments of life made together.
I know it may sound sappy but from the bottom of my heart, the absolute truth! I hope that you come and share in the history of this home and add your memories as well.
What makes this property unique
Location is ideal - across the street (Behind neighbors' homes) from Lake Winnebago and seven houses from the Fox River. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet - a ideal location for evening walks and BBQ's (plus, I have the absolute best neighbors to each side and across the street!).
Drive time to Historic Downtown Oshkosh is literally two minutes and en route you'll drive river side and pass Leach Ampitheater where summer concert series are hosted.
Downtown includes a fantastic Farmers Market, Cafe's, Coffee Houses, Cute Shops and reviving Spas.
For those attending EAA, the drive time is between 7-10 minutes as we are 3.3 miles away. For those attending UW Oshkosh, drive time is 5-7 minutes and for those attending Rock USA and Country USA, drive time is between 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
Benefits of the home is that the bedding is incredibly comfortable, safety first with ADT alarm system. Technology is prime with a 55" LG Smart TV to include access to Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. High Speed Wifi.
Great space within the home and outside of the home. Parking is excellent as is a long drive way with much street parking.
Outdoor furniture and BBQ for gorgeous evenings. These are kept indoor during inclement weather to maintain the integrity of the furnishings.
Great kitchen with high end finishes to include stovetop, refrigerator and pots/pans. And as I am a coffee and tea connoisseur, there is a Keurig and tea pot.
Truly, anything you need and all you need is here - to include a washer and dryer in my very lovely basement!
