Outstanding experience, cabin is very relaxing and a lot to keep you, your family or friends entertained! Movie room, pool table, air hockey in the basement. Mid level is a beautiful living room, kitchen, dining area and master bedroom. Upstairs has 2 nice bedrooms and a loft hang out area. Great views and front and back porch areas. Highly recommend this cabin for bigger gatherings due to its size. Parking is single file in the driveway but not a big deal.
We had an amazing week renting this cabin. Andrew was super-responsive to everything, and they went over-the-top to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. I would stay here again!

Hi Eric Thank you for your review, you were a large family who treated our home with care and respect during the holidays. We welcome you back anytime!
THIS IS A AMAZING VACATION HOME. PERFECTLY SETTLED UP IN MOUNTAINS, LOTS OF PRIVACY. HOUSE IS VERY CLEAN AND VERY SPACIOUS. BEDROOMS, BATHROOMS, LIVING AREAS, AND A EXCELLENT BASEMENT (GAME ROOM / THEATER). VERY EASY COMMUNICATION WITH GUEST CONTACT. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.HOUSE IS ON A VERY STEEP ROAD (MOSTLY GRAVEL). OUR TWO WHEEL DRIVE DID MAKE IT, FOR FOR 4X4 IT WILL BE EASY RIDE.

From the owner: "Thank you and we hope you come back to visit again!"
The remote location and quiet setting was perfect for our group's annual outing. We made good use of the smoker and grill and had a fantastic time. The theater in the basement (along with air hockey) came in handy after the sun set. Hosts were responsive and fantastic, and check-out procedures were simple and easy. Would definitely recommend this "cabin" for a family or two looking to get off the beaten path and enjoy the oudoors. Good hiking in the area, and the view from the "top of the hill" is gorgeous.
The cabin was very nice and cozy. We had a tone of snow when we went, so it was absolutely amazing! They kept main streets clear and neighborhood streets were cleared at night but you can expect snow on streets during day heading up and down neighborhood streets. The only issue we had, which is not listed in their listing is water consumption. You get a nice little message upon arrival about water usage, that their system pumps 100gal a day and there’s 10,000 more in reserve. We had a family of 11, which is stated as the appropriate amount the home can hold and after 3 showers and running dishwasher our water shut off. They messaged promptly as the alarm notified them and they quickly turned it back on, however, it was not quick enough that one of our family members were stuck in the shower with soap on them. The water shut off due to a triggering alarm stating more water consumption than normal no where near our 100gal allowance. So a need to know before you go, be prepared to use water as if you were staying in a camper. Never once could we all shower in a day and wash dishes for a family of 11. Very big inconvenience for as much as we spent to stay there during New Years. Over all the home is beautiful, very well maintained and comfortable.

From the owner: “Thank you for the thoughtful review and for choosing our cabin for New Year's—we're thrilled you found it beautiful, cozy, and well-maintained!- Our smart meter is designed to protect guests from ever running out of water on our private system. In 3 years, it's never shut off without a legitimate issue (like a leak). - Here, it falsely suspected a problem, and we turned it back on within minutes. We are truly sorry about the water shutoff.- The 100-gallon note sets expectations for how the safety system works, not to limit normal use. A group of 11 can absolutely shower and run dishes daily without issue. We have adjusted meter sensitivity to prevent false alarms on full-house usage. Thank you for the feedback that helps us improve. Hope to welcome you back for a perfect 5-star stay!”

Worth Every Penny!
We can’t recommend this excellent mountain paradise enough. Every detail made this mountain rental feel like a true home. Perfect for families, the spacious layout gave us all space to relax and enjoy the serenity and quiet of the Weet Virginia mountains. The kitchen is very well stocked, and we made many meals at home during our stay. The outdoor deck is huge with wonderful views, and the backyard was great for our two dogs. The beds are comfortable, and the in suite bathrooms had everything we needed. The downstairs rec room is wonderful for entertaining. The surround system and theater setup made for great movie nights, and air hockey, billiards, darts, and more kept everyone entertained. The proximity to Snowshoe was so convenient, with a scenic 12 minute drive from our doorstep to the lifts. We skied each day and it was lovely to not rush and enjoy a home cooked breakfast before heading out. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing yet convenient stay in the heart of Pocahontas county. We can’t wait to go back!

From the owner: "Zach, Thanks for your comments! We are so glad you and the pups enjoyed your time on Sunset Mtn!"
We rented this cabin for 5 nights with the intention of being in a remote location for the purpose of rest and relaxation. We drove in from the south at I-64 in Lewisberg. It is a windy drive on Hwy 219 that takes you straight to a gravel side road that leads to the cabin. One thing to note is your options for groceries coming from this direction is a Walmart in Lewisberg which is about an hour and 45 minutes away from the cabin or a small IGA store about 40 minutes from the cabin. Another important thing to note is there is little to no cell service from I-64 to the cabin so it’s best to familiarize yourself with your directions before leaving. When we arrived at the cabin we discovered a beautiful, well maintained, well stocked cabin with a beautiful view of mountains all around us. The basement was the most impressive side feature of the cabin with the movie theater, pool table, air hockey, darts and golf putting game. We were able to relax, enjoy the views and explore the area during our stay. Another side note is that we stayed here in late April so there was hardly anyone in the area because this area is mainly a snow ski area. Lastly, I want to thank our host Andrew for being so kind and helpful in answering all of my questions.
