Contemporary Home with heated pool and waterviews on Shelter Island

Our Shelter Island beach house is within a 5-minute walk to beautiful Wades Beach. A heated salt water pool is located within an enclosed patio and has an automatic safety cover which can only be accessed by tenant with a key (lock is separate from the pool), providing peace of mind to anyone with small children or guests.

Enjoy close proximity to one of Shelter Island's beautiful beaches and relax in the pastoral yard while grilling your dinner.

It offers guests a peaceful and quiet spot for an unforgettable vacation only 100 miles from New York City. Our beach house is situated on more than one acre on South Midway Road, about 1 mile from Shelter Island Heights, with easy access to the surrounding restaurants, shops and Mashomack Nature Preserve. Our house is just a short walk from the house to the sand and the water.

The interior features 4 bedrooms (2 master bedrooms with private bathrooms) and 3 full bathrooms in a sunny two-story-style layout (dual zone Central Air equipped). Beautiful Vintage doors and classic appointments adorn the open floor plan with beamed ceilings, cast iron tub, country kitchen and stained glass windows. The master bedroom has a veranda to enjoy.

The backyard has a wraparound porch with furniture, sunning deck and gas grill perfect for a barbecue. The large backyard is ideal for summer evening entertaining. Comfortably furnished, our house provides a relaxed atmosphere in wonderful surroundings. It is close to local restaurants, boat yard, ferries and all amenities that Shelter Island offers.

The house is lovely, we found it very clean and comfortable.

This is a great place for an easy vacation. The house was very well stocked and immaculately clean. The best part was the close proximity to the beach.

Perfect Family Retreat in Shelter Island

We needed a brief family get-a-way to reconnect as a family post kids coming home from college break. We found this property to be perfect for that. Great individual bedrooms and baths centered around a great family space inside and out. The pool was outstanding and Wades Beach is 100yards away! Just what the doctor ordered and very clean and well appointed as well. We would stay again and highly recommend.

Fantastic family vacation home

Wonderful place - the house was magical! Large rooms, spacious, tasteful, clean and modern. Plus a few minute walk to the best beaches on shelter island made this one of best vacations ever. The water is generally very calm here too - just makes things so pleasant and safe for kids. If you have kids recommend the inlet at the end of wades beach for crab catching. Thanks!

Wonderful, spacious house steps from the beach

We have stayed at this property a number of times and we keep coming back! It is the perfect place for family and/or friends to relax and enjoy all that the North Fork has to offer. Literally steps from Wade's Beach, and a quick drive into town, this is a wonderful house, and perfect for children or adults. And Christina and Kevin are the consummate hosts! They know all of the best local spots and have been great to work with.

Great stay

A really well laid out and located property on Shelter Island. Other reviews mention the pictures don't do it justice and I can happily reaffirm that, it's really great both inside and out. Particularly great for kids. The pool is amazing and somehow managed to convince my 4 year old to learn to swim. Not me, the pool, that's how nice it is.

Absolute heaven!!

Where to start.. what an incredible holiday we had in Christina's beautiful home. This is truly a fantastic find and the best VRBO experience we've ever had. The house is impeccably decorated in a cool, stylish but incredibly comfortable manner, spotlessly clean, and with incredible amenities. The layout is perfect for a larger family although we enjoyed the space with just our baby daughter. The pool is AMAZING. Heated, salt water, and with a wonderful deck area - we spent hours there. We loved grilling out in the warm evenings and enjoyed the shade of the deck during the heat of the day. The proximity to Wades Beach also could not be more convenient and the bay beach with shells and warm water is perfect for young children. We had an amazing dinner at Sunset Beach which was a short car ride away, but pretty much everything else we needed was walkable. It was a pleasure to be welcomed and checked-out also, very professional and helpful, in sum, we found the owners to be an absolute delight (and super responsive) to deal with. This honestly could not have been a better stay for us, we will be back. Thank you for having us in your beautiful home.

Unusually great vacation house

The house was lovely, even better than the pictures. It was so light and spacious. The family room/sun room is enviable, with pretty grounds around it and a view to the road which is not very close to the house. Everything is wonderfully maintained. The house was immaculate. Everything was provided, even beach towels and chairs, and pool toys . There was nothing that we needed to bring or get, other than our personal clothing and food we wanted to eat. The agent was delightful as she knows a lot about Shelter Island. She is also informative, on time and responsive. The owner, Christina, was very prompt about getting back to me with answers to questions both before and after the rental was finalized.

Beautiful home on SI

Everything about this lovely home worked for my family of 6, 3 teen girls and teen son. The home is beautifully renovated with gathering areas for family and separate sitting areas for privacy. The pool is spectacular and having Wades Beach a stone throw away ideal.

Wonderful Weekend & Tranquil Oasis!

We had a fantastic long weekend with my fiancee & 2 nieces. The property is a tranquil oasis set a little back from the road & a short walk from Wade's Beach. The house is surprisingly large with a fully stocked open kitchen that looks out into a vibrant green backyard. Plenty of beach gear on hand including a Radio Flyer wagon made the short walk to Wades Beach very convenient. We'll def be back! Some tips: *- The backyard porch is perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast *- Take the most peaceful nap ever in a hammock under a tree in the backyard as you fall asleep to the chirping of birds *- Wade's Beach is a bit rocky so grab some water shoes. Once you get past the first 15 feet or so it clears up. *- Take in the sunset from the sunroom in the front of the house

Cozy, Roomy, and Close to the Beach

We were two couples with three kids and my parents. What was nice about this house is that it has 2 master bedrooms, with their own full baths, on separate floors. We put my elderly parents upstairs and we used the three bedrooms on the main floor. It has an open living room and kitchen area which was nice to spread out in (exposed beam ceilings are nice). The sun room with the TV was good to stick the kids in while we were on the other side of the house. It has a large backyard of about an acre. The owner left beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys in the shed. The greatest part is that the walk to the beach is 5 minutes! It's four doors to Wades Beach, which is a very good spot for kids because it's on the bay. The property was meticulously kept, it had garbage pickup, and we used their cleaning women to come weekly. The owner was very nice and answered my emails and texts right away. If you are looking for a big house near a beach, this was a good value and a really nice vacation house.
