About the host
Hosted by Andrea and James
Friendly, outgoing, respectful, honest family oriented couple. Outdoor enthusiasts who loves to cross country ski, hike and fish! We love to meet like minded people and enjoy a good "chin wag" around a fire.
Why they chose this property
We like to think this property chose us. It’s the perfect location, close to town and backing onto a beautiful marshland where we hear loons and sandhill cranes throughout the summer, and enjoy cross-country skiing in the winter. It offers the ideal blend of quiet, tranquil beauty, all while being close to Rocky Mountain House and the wild, untamed backcountry. We love exploring the hiking trails around Abraham Lake and especially enjoy visiting Nordegg and the Miner’s Café for their fresh, homemade pies. One of our favorite winter activities is ice fishing on the many little lakes in the area, where we often catch fresh fish for dinner! Rocky Mountain House is a year-round playground, perfect for hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, fishing, or whatever your heart desires. We feel incredibly lucky to call this place home.
What makes this property unique
The Lazy Larch Cabin has a unique story. It was built to accommodate a sky diving school north of Edmonton and spent 20 years as a instructor accommodation with bathrooms. It was relocated here in 2022. The Cabin was fully renovated and every aspect of it was reinvented with love with the help of a community of friends and family. Behind the walls inside the cabin are words and wishes from everyone who helped us build this dream and thoughtfully chosen words of well wishes for our future guests stay. The energy is truly peaceful as every inch of the the space was created from love and hope. We know you will feel it too.
