This house has excellent access to the Royal National Park- from the backyard. The house has a lovely kitchen and loungeroom. It has views over the trees to the ocean, from the dining room.
The house is very clean and comfortable.
Excellent to stay in for access to the Royal National Park or to visit the Bundeena Art Trail.

Thank you so much for staying Michelle – we hope that you had a wonderful time
We really enjoyed our time at Bunedeena. The house was relaxed and comfortable with a distant view of ocean over a bush setting. We did lots of walking in the National Park which is right at our door. We were offered and accepted a late checkout. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Thank you Cathy – please do come and stay with us again
I booked it for family. They really enjoyed the view and the style of the house. Very accessible. A little tricky for elderly people coming up the driveway, but manageable. Didn't want to download any more apps so would prefer a direct email rather than vrbo, but no real problems and especially appreciated how prompt Dan was in responding to messages. I was the one that was not always as prompt ! thank you Dan.

Thank you so much for your beautiful review. We’re so glad you had such a lovely stay at Casa Bundeena and that the house gave you the kind of relaxed coastal escape we hope guests experience. We’d love to welcome you back again anytime.
We had a lovely week at bundeena. The house had just wanted we needed and great views. We went walking everyday and spent lots of time at the nearby beaches and parks. You step into a bushwalk as soon as you leave the backyard which doesn’t have a fence. We got the projector out after a couple of tv free days and had fun with that. It’s nice that you can’t watch it when the sun is shining :). Dan has been helpful in organising to post back a few things we left. A couple of things to be careful of - prickly plants (with kids), joins between floors (with toes).

Thank you Jacqui, We’re looking forward to hosting you again
The property is well styled, but for the price we paid in January, we expected a lot more. The master bedroom off the living area only has a curtain, no door. There was no BBQ as promised in the listing. There was a strong unpleasant smell coming from the overflowing drain in the backyard near the outdoor lounge area, which must have been sewage. It would overflow after minimal water/toilet usage, which made it too unpleasant to be outside, because of the smell. Overall it feels like basic cosmetic work has been done for the photos, but the house needs some serious money spent on maintenance: loose tiles outside the bathroom; decking outside dilapidated & plumbing to name a few. On the plus side the location is great & the kitchen is well equipped.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry this stay did not meet expectations, especially given the January rate.
We appreciate you noting the great location, styling and well-equipped kitchen, but we also take the maintenance concerns seriously. Since this stay, we have reviewed the listing details to make sure the home is represented more clearly and accurately, including removing any amenities that are not currently available. We have also addressed the drainage issue and are continuing to work through maintenance improvements around the property.
Casa Bundeena is a character-filled coastal home rather than a newly renovated hotel-style property, but guests should still feel comfortable, safe and properly looked after. We’re sorry that wasn’t your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share such specific feedback.
About the host
Hosted by Dan
WHAT DO YOU WANT GUESTS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
Casa Bundeena is our much-loved coastal home, and we host because we genuinely love sharing this special pocket of the world with people who will enjoy it as much as we do.
We’re drawn to homes with warmth, colour, creativity and soul — places that feel lived in, thoughtful and full of personality rather than generic or hotel-like. Casa Bundeena reflects that. It is filled with art, photography books, board games, puzzles, creative supplies and little details that make slow weekends feel easy.
We want guests to feel relaxed, welcome and well looked after. Whether you are coming for beach walks, national park adventures, long lunches, whale watching, movie nights or a quiet reset with family and friends, we hope the house gives you the space to properly switch off.
We care about clear communication, thoughtful details and making sure guests understand the home before they arrive, so the stay feels easy from the beginning.
Why they chose this property
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS AREA?
Bundeena has a rare kind of magic. It feels worlds away from Sydney, but it is still incredibly accessible by road or ferry. One minute you can be walking through the village or heading down to the beach, and the next you are surrounded by the Royal National Park, coastal tracks, bushland and ocean views.
We love that Casa Bundeena sits with the national park at the back fence and the sea beyond. Jibbon Beach is within walking distance, the ferry and village are close by, and some of the area’s most iconic walks — including the tracks towards Wedding Cake Rock and Figure 8 Pools — are nearby.
It is the kind of place that invites a slower rhythm: morning coffee on the porch, long lunches, swims, bushwalks, sunset drinks, movie nights and winter whale watching. Bundeena has the feeling of a proper coastal escape without needing to travel far.
What makes this property unique
WHAT MAKES YOUR PROPERTY UNIQUE?
Casa Bundeena is not a standard holiday rental. It is a colourful, art-filled four-bedroom coastal home with ocean views, bushland behind the house and the Royal National Park at the back fence.
The home has a creative, relaxed personality, with art on the walls, photography books on the shelves, board games, puzzles and creative supplies throughout the house. It is spacious enough for families, friends and groups of up to 8, but still feels warm, personal and inviting.
Guests can walk to Jibbon Beach, explore the national park, watch whales migrating in winter, enjoy outdoor meals on the deck, cook proper group dinners in the well-equipped kitchen, or settle in for projector movie nights with Netflix, Stan, Max and Disney+ included.
What makes the property special is the combination: beach access, national park, ocean views, space for groups, creative interiors and a genuine sense of soul. It is best suited to guests who want comfort, character and a memorable coastal stay rather than a polished, minimalist hotel experience.
