The Space:
You’ll enter this traditional Surry Hills terrace house into a spacious lounge area with beautiful floor boards and original period touches throughout. There’s a 3-seater sofa, smart TV, stylish occasional furniture and a rug for winter comfort, with security bars on doors and windows merely as a precaution while providing peace of mind. This lounge area flows through to a combined kitchen/dining space with a table seating 4 people (or 6 if needed, using a nearby bench seat). The kitchen offers stone benchtops, a medium-sized Fisher & Paykel fridge, a Smeg dishwasher, 4-burner gas cooktop, under-bench electric oven, soda stream and coffee plunger, along with the usual kitchen appliances. A European style laundry is housed in a kitchen cupboard, providing a front loader washing machine and separate dryer. The main bathroom comes off this kitchen space, with a roomy shower recess, a separate bath tub and subway tiling. There’s also a little back courtyard for fresh air and access to a back alley where the bins are stored.
A flight of stairs takes you up to the house’s 2 bedrooms, both with floorboards and pedestal fans. The master bedroom comes with a queen sized bed, wardrobe, and doors leading out to a sweet balcony overlooking Edgely Street with an iron balustrade and cactus plants. A second bedroom has a double bed and wardrobe.
The Neighborhood:
Situated just a couple of kilometres from Sydney’s CBD (Downtown), cosmopolitan Surry Hills is celebrated for its fabulous eateries, bars, and shopping – all just a short walk from the house, with buzzy Crown Street only a few minutes stroll away.
