Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
POOR COMMUNICATION & LACK OF CLEANLINESS
We paid for three nights. Check-in was supposed to be at 3 PM, but we got a text after 3 PM about a delay because the cleaners weren't done. They said they should be finishing off around 4 PM. We slowed down, got there at 4:30 PM, assuming the cleaning was finished. It wasn't. The bed/bathrooms were dirty, linens unwashed, and there was a bad smell in one of the rooms. There was no communication about the cleaners not arriving until we complained about how dirty it was and had to call again to get them to actually come.
They advertised a fireplace but told us after to bring firewood, which is strange and inconveniant for a holiday. The cleaners gave us one bag of firewood that lasted a day, and then we were told to buy more, but the local store had none. They promised more firewood the next day, but it never showed up (after we complained they said it was delivered at 11 but we were still at home and the firewood was not there).
We left a day early because of the awful conditions. When we complained about the heating, they said we "should have asked" for extra heaters, which was ridiculous given how many times we texted about the firewood and their reply being heaters in rooms (THERE ISN'T) and spare blankets (WHICH WERE DIRTY). There was also limited hot water.
Overall, it was a terrible stay with bad communication and no concern for our comfort.
