It was a nice quiet spot to just relax and enjoy the surrounding byt still cose to a few towns for any shopping needs. Rose's place was very clean and welcoming.
Rose was an excellent host. Her property is beautifully renovated and exceptionally clean. The cottage made for the perfect weekend getaway. The paddle boards, kayaks and hammocks were our favourite part of our stay. We would recommend this place to anyone.
This was a very clean unit, well stocked with all kitchen and bath items. We were able to use the kayaks to explore the lake and the waterfront setting was lovely. Lots to do in the area as well.
Our stay at the cottage was fantastic! The place had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The host was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything to enjoy our time. The cottage itself was clean, cozy, and well-equipped, and the lake was absolutely stunning. We especially loved having access to kayaks and paddleboards — it made our time on the water even more memorable and fun. Would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful lakeside escape!
The house was very clean and a very comfortable living space. Sitting on the dock surveying the big lake was lovely and the spacious yard has hammocks, a firepit and lots of pretty fireflies at night! We enjoyed having campfires in the backyard and there were kayaks available if we had wanted them as well. Nice hiking in the area too! Thanks again Rose!
The first thing we noticed was that the property was impeccable- very clean and well cared for. Everything was well laid out and worked very well. We were able to access nearby locations quickly and easily. Rose was a very gracious host and went out of her way to ensure that we had a very pleasant stay. We appreciated her hospitality very much.

Enjoyed my stay here. The cottage is newly renovated and was spotless. Very nicely decorated with kitchen that was fully stocked with everything you would need to cook a meal or bake a cake. Situated right on the water with a dock to sit on and enjoy the peace and quiet. Will definitely stay here again.
Very clean and only 10 minutes to the heart of Perth. Many possibilities for hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and swimming. Also, a super place to just sit on the dock or patio and watch the day pass by.
Beautiful Perth cabin property fully equipped with everything you need to reside comfortably. We were able to use paddle boards, kayaks and the firepitt - which was tons of fun. Kitchen has all cooking tools needed to cook or bake. It was a bit cool in temperature during our stay and host was proactive in providing additional comforters, towels, and a heater. Host was generally very friendly, helpful and polite assisting with any concerns we expressed during our stay. I would like to disclaim, although I think this is out of the control of the host, the tap water has a odd smell to it, so I recommend to bring your own supply if you are sensitive to it. I think this is as a result of the town water filtration system process causing the odour. Pictures are pretty accurate of the property. There is a top level of the cottage cabin not captured, which is where the property manager stays. Unit advertised is lower portion of the cabin, and has a private entrance. Note: you might have company residing above, which was alright during our stay- just keep in mind that means you’ll hear footsteps. Cute little guestbook to read about previous stayers’ experience. Overall, loved the long-weekend Labour Day stay. Town has a fair with activities to engage in and host provided a list of some “to-do” stuff as well.

Dear guest, It was pleasure hosting you and your guest. We, at the Dove Cottage take pride in what we offer our guests. Any provided recommendation we look into it and improve where possible.
Re. the tap water, it is the country side, and water wells' minor smell is common, we have installed top of the line filters, and test regularly our water. Our water is one of the best water quality amongst the cottage country.
The second level of the cottage is clearly mentioned in the property description: "This private ground level unit with 1 bed, 1 bath and a fully equipped kitchen is part of a duplex private entrance.", we are not trying to hide it. The photos are a representation of the actual rental property.
Hope this clarifies your concerns.
Nature lover, find tranquility by the water side. People's person, active, happy and always available to land a hand. You'll find me kayaking, fishing, or hiking, and I love photography.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with Rideau lake - Perth when I was invited by a friend to spend a weekend at her cottage. That's when I decided to move into this area. My place is located on a private road, calm, shaded by beautiful maple and cedar trees. Enjoy reading a book in the hammock or on the dock. Here the only sound you'll hear are the chirping birds.
What makes this property unique
I offer adult oriented environment, whether be very active, or just sit by the water side, read a book and relax. Fishing is great at the Rideau Lakes, some of the species are Rock Bass, Northern Pike, Large and Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, Walleye and Lake Trout. Kayak and Stand up paddle boards are available on site. Our dock fits boats up to 20 feet, welcome to bring and dock your own boat. A short drive from our oasis, you will find many hiking trails including the following: ⦁ Perth Wildfire Reserve: A well-treed, loop trail to a lookout with a great view of the Tay Marsh. It is a 3km, easy route with lots of birds to see along the way. ⦁ Sylvan Trail at the Murphy’s Point Provincial Park: A 2.5 km loop that leads you through a mature, mixed forest community with a rugged landscape. Perth offers also many grocery stores, pharmacies, Dollarama and a variety of restaurants and breweries. Our favourite gems in the area include the following: ⦁ Best Mexican Food: Mex & Co ⦁ Best Burger and Poutine: T’s Chips ⦁ Best Baked Goods: Coutts Coffee Roastery & Cafe ⦁ Best Specialty Chocolatier: Perth Chocolate Works ⦁ Most scenic restaurant: CC’s on the Rideau A short 4 minute drive to the Port Elmsley Drive-In Movie theatre.
