About this property
Lakefront home w/direct cove access, kayaks, pavilion, fire pit, & private creek
Please ask Host about water access and grounds post storm. We are working to restore the pathways so our guests can enjoy our wonderful retreat.
**Pet Friendly With Fee, see below.
Get back to nature with your family and friends, and leave big-city cares behind. Your four legged friends are welcome too.
A perfect waterfront playground in which to forget your worries while immersed in the beauty of Lake James, the Blue Ridge Mountains and Pisgah National Forest.
Our property offers four wooded acres with flat direct water access to Lake James for swimming, kayaking, or canoeing, and fishing. The home is also bordered by Dale’s Creek, which feeds mountain water into the lake.
Whether you are swimming, paddling, fishing, or wading in the creek, there is no shortage of wildlife and flora to enjoy.
Picnic and BBQ at the pavilion and relax by bonfires in the evenings. Enjoy all the sounds of nature and the soothing music of the stream from the rear deck or covered porches. Pour a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and read a book on the screened porch.
Other outdoor adventures await you nearby: many trailheads can be found around Lake James: Fonta Flora Trailhead, Lake James State Park, Linville Gorge, Pisgah National Forest, Shortoff Mtn., and Table Rock Mtn. Waterfalls abound in our area. Bicycling (mountain biking, road biking) and rock climbing are popular, along with trout fishing.
We are about 45 minutes from Asheville, 1.5 hours from Charlotte, about an hour from Linville and Banner Elk, and 1.5 hours from Blowing Rock and Boone.
Our manager is familiar with this area and can provide suggestions for local activities, grocery options, and other local resources.

Frequently asked questions
About the host
Hosted by Karen Hennessee, Lake James Property Management

I am a professional property manager and I have over 14 years experience in rentals as well as a Brokers license in NC since 1996.
Why they chose this property
Our property is private and remote, we can't see any neighbors. We enjoy the simplicity of nature and just enjoying our surrondings. We don't come here to work, or stream TV. We come here to relax and unplug.
What makes this property unique
We are waterfront and the walk to the water is flat and easy. You can swim, kayak, canoe, fish, and all from our back yard. There is also a strong and hardy freah stream that feeds into Lake James called Dale's Creek that runs through our land.
