About this property

Lakefront home w/direct cove access, kayaks, pavilion, fire pit, & private creek

Get back to nature with your family and friends, and leave big-city cares behind.

A perfect waterfront playground in which to forget your worries while immersed in the beauty of Lake James, the Blue Ridge Mountains and Pisgah National Forest.

Our property offers four wooded acres with flat direct water access to Lake James for swimming, kayaking, or canoeing, and fishing. The home is also bordered by Dale’s Creek, which feeds mountain water into the lake.
Whether you are swimming, paddling, fishing, or wading in the creek, there is no shortage of wildlife and flora to enjoy.
Picnic and BBQ at the pavilion and relax by bonfires in the evenings. Enjoy all the sounds of nature and the soothing music of the stream from the rear deck or covered porches. Pour a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and read a book on the screened porch.

Other outdoor adventures await you nearby: many trailheads can be found around Lake James: Fonta Flora Trailhead, Lake James State Park, Linville Gorge, Pisgah National Forest, Shortoff Mtn., and Table Rock Mtn. Waterfalls abound in our area. Bicycling (mountain biking, road biking) and rock climbing are popular, along with trout fishing.
We are about 45 minutes from Asheville, 1.5 hours from Charlotte, about an hour from Linville and Banner Elk, and 1.5 hours from Blowing Rock and Boone.

Our manager is familiar with this area and can provide suggestions for local activities, grocery options, and other local resources.

Fantastic get-away
We've been heading up to Lake James for a week each of the last five years or so. By far, this was the best place we've stayed. Secluded, with great access to the lake - a great little beach area with sand rather than mud. House is clean and solidly constructed (not the usual cut corners you often see in vacation rentals). The pleasant sound of Dales Creek keeps the vibe peaceful and quiet. Convenient to Lake James Marina, Fonta Flora Brewing, and multiple hiking spots and parks. Great spot. Lake James Rd. is one of the busier roads (the Nebo/Marion definition of "busy") so there's a touch more traffic noise than you'd expect. But that's literally the only drawback and it's easily ignored when it happens.

Perfect Balance
This lake home property is the perfect balance of comforts of home surrounded by wilderness. The lake and creek offer hours of entertainment for the family. The property itself is large which allowed everyone to spread out and find quiet time when needed. My only recommendation would be a little softer beds. The one on the third floor is very hard.

Dales Creek Is Awesome
Dale's Creek was private, peaceful, relaxing and stocked with all the basics one would need. The house and property was very clean and well maintained. Property management was easy to contact, understanding and responsive when we needed them. We all really enjoyed watching the large flocks of ducks and waterfowl on the cove. It was cold when we stayed, so we couldn't get in the water, but it looks amazing as a warm weather lake/stream swimming destination. We would definitely visit again!

Why they chose this property

Our property is private and remote, we can't see any neighbors. We enjoy the simplicity of nature and just enjoying our surrondings. We don't come here to work, or stream TV. We come here to relax and unplug.

What makes this property unique

We are waterfront and the walk to the water is flat and easy. You can swim, kayak, canoe, fish, and all from our back yard. There is also a strong and hardy freah stream that feeds into Lake James called Dale's Creek that runs through our land.
