About this property

Gorgeous Ocean View Studio Suite at The Cottage at the Cove Telegraph Cove

Enjoy spectacular ocean views at The Cottage at the Cove 5 star Studio Suite. You just might see Killer Whales, Humpback Whales, the odd Minke Whale, Dolphins, Porpoises, Sea Lions, and Sea Otters swimming by. There are also Bald Eagles, Deer and more that you can see right from the comfort of your room. Some of the most gorgeous sunsets ever are able to be seen from the oversize windows designed to capture the views of the ocean and mountains. The suite was completed in May 2024 and features high 8'3" ceilings throughout the unit. The cabinets are topped with luxurious quartz counters, residential fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave and all you need to bring in is your food and drink. If you don't feel like cooking the Killer Whale Cafe, Sally's Coffee Shop and the Saltery Pub offer great food and drinks and they are only a short walk from your room. The bathroom features a tile floor, an oversized shower with porcelain tiles on the walls and glass rolling shower door. The property and suite is tastefully decorated with the ocean in mind with nice touches like nautical pictures and ornaments, real used fish net floats, old weathered rope and old rough boards and logs from Telegraph Cove. There is a permanent queen bed and if you need additional bedding, we just added a sofa "Hide a Bed" for an extra couple adults or children. The suite is ideal for a couple and two children although we have had couples stay with us. We are located a short walk from the Historic Telegraph Cove in the residential area, but far enough away to be very quiet and relaxing. It is close to many walking trails and a short drive to a few local lakes and streams up in the mountains. There is a private barbecue area with a table and chairs for those evenings you want to take in the views and fresh air. The suite has free parking for one vehicle and also free wifi. You can stream on the large flat screen TV or sit back and relax watching the occasional cruise ship go by or possibly a whale. We also have a large selection of books you can read in the suite or on the porch and free Killer Whale postcards that you can take with you or to send a note to someone back home. If you are looking for Bear, Whale and Nature watching we can connect you with the right people. If you are looking for world class fishing, whale watching and Grizzly Bear Watching, Telegraph Cove is where you want to be. We are the Gateway to the Broughton Archipelago, BC's largest marine park and the mountains offer some of the most incredible wildlife for your viewing pleasure.
If you are looking to charter a private luxury cruise for just you and your family or friends we have our own Barnacle Bob Charter Company. We can take you into the 200 Broughton Islands, a short trip to Alert Bay to see huge First Nations Totem Poles and collect sea glass. Or we can take you on a fishing adventure for salmon, ling cod and halibut or go to see the Sea lions, Eagles and Sea Otters. We can also take you out and catch world famous BC Spot Prawns and Dungeness Crab. We have a 2825 Kingfisher we bought new a few years ago with 3 engines for safety and performance. The Kingfisher has a fully enclosed cabin loaded with amenities. It has a private bathroom with a door and flush toilet, heated cabin, fridge, dinette area and all the latest in electronics and safety gear. We have binoculars on board and a high end non skid back deck for viewing the scenery and wildlife or to bring in a nice fish for dinner. Barnacle Bob has over 40 years of boating experience in the area and about and he can take you, your family and friends on a totally private tour. Check out www.barnaclebob.ca
Although we often see whales and the occasional bear on the shoreline on our private tours, we recommend you book a Tide Rip Grizzly Adventure Tour to see Grizzly bears in Knight Inlet as well as Prince Of Whales for Whale watching. They are both first class companies that provide a memorable experience. When you arrive we will give you information on all the dining, hiking, shopping and exploring options that you have in and around Telegraph Cove. In 2026 we are opening for the first time the Barnacle Bob Store on site. Primarily for our suite and charter guests to be able to pick up a hat, hoodie, t shirt cool momento or gift for someone back home. Maybe the latest hot fishing lure or some Telegraph Cove stickers. Our goal is to make your holiday one you will never forget. Many of our clients have been coming every year since we opened. Our hope is you will have so much fun that you too will come visit us for years to come. We look forward to having you join us at what is our favourite place on earth, Telegraph Cove!

About the host

Host profile image
The first time I came to Telegraph Cove was 40 years ago. We fell in love with the place and now live here full time. Joanne and I love watching whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, sea otters and Bald Eagles. We also love exploring the Broughton Archipelago BC's largest marine park and cruising the inlets and finding new places we have never been. The fishing is world class including salmon, halibut, ling cod, rock cod and we also enjoy prawning and crabbing.

Why they chose this property

We are only a few minutes walk from the Historic Telegraph Cove and the restaurant and pub, whale museum and store yet far enough away to be just a little more relaxing.

What makes this property unique

We have nautical landscaping, ocean views of Johnstone Strait and breath taking sunsets. There is a number of Bald Eagles who hang out in the tall trees just waiting for their dinner to come to the surface.
