The house is older and has that old smell. The area is great. We enjoyed sitting in the carport in the evening. Even Had a little kitten visit each night. Lots of space in the house and it was clean.
The house was clean but on entering had musty smell. The king bed was very hard and noisy when you moved, got in or out of bed. The AC did work very well which was Important in the summer. There was plenty of coffee, tea bags, etc for our weekend stay. It was just like being at Grandmas house.

Hi James, we’re glad to hear you found the home clean, well-stocked, and comfortably cool during your summer stay! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We appreciate you pointing out the musty smell and will look into ways to freshen up the space.- We’ll also review the king bed to see how we can make it more comfortable and quieter for future guests. Thanks for sharing your feedback.
Our stay was enjoyable and the house was great for our needs. Booking process was easy, and the house was well outfitted with kitchen stuff. Price was unbeatable! It felt like going to grandma's house.
The only things to point out are minor, but the floors were not clean...they looked fine, but socks soon had black bottoms. We also noticed that the air return grate in the living room was filthy. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Good location......
We stayed here specifically because we came to go crystal mining. The location can't be beat!However......the house is old. Its out dated. It smells....like your grandma's, grandma's house. The locked room to the all seasons room is creepy. The floors are loud. The bathrooms were clean, and had towels and mini soaps which was nice. The sponge situation in the kitchen is gross though. The bedrooms were like the three bears. The double beds were soft and comfy, the bedroom furthest from the bathroom was stiff, the one closest was like plywood. The furniture in that room is also, just weird. The outlet in the head boards were a plus. The expired food in the gift basket with an empty notecard was odd. There was no communication from the owner. It just did not feel like a home away from home like I am used to with all my other VRBO stays. Needs updating and some extra touches.

From the Owner: "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience. We’re actively working to resolve the issue to ensure a better experience for our future guests."
This stay was primarily a sleep-only place. Given that the beds/pillows were comfortable and clean. That seems to be where the "good" stopped.1. Curb appeal, yards were not mowed or tidied up.2. Not all the burners worked on the range.3. The oven failed to cook evenly. Bacon cooked in the oven ended up burned on one end and underdone on the other.4. Toaster (4 slice) only toasted on one side on two slots.5. Counter-top ice maker didn't work properly.6. Insufficient towels and toilet paper for guests.7. Shower connected to master had mold on the floor.8. Floors were very dirty. Everyone had very dirty socks and we weren't there for very long each day.Personally I feel the rate per night was high compared to the quality of the unit. Thus was highly disappointing as I usually am easily pleased with my VRBO stays.
