This is a great place to stay with a great family. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, had a wonderful easy time and were very sorry to leave. This isn't a hotel or resort - it's a homestay and we really felt at home. Jale, Nita, Sia and Jima are creative, interesting and generally exceptional people and perfect hosts. They can organise lots of things for you to do, but they don't 'push' anything. It's up to you. The food was REALLY excellent - some of the best food we've eaten, ever, anywhere. My two boys (aged 8 and 10) and I stayed for four nights and would have happily made it forty if we could have. Leaving was a bit of a shock to the system! If you and/or your kids like playing rugby, it's an especially great place. More broadly, Taveuni is a beautiful island - quiet but with things to see and do. Really worth a visit. Give it as much time as you can. Vinaka Vaka Levu - we look forward to coming back which we will certainly do.

Experience the real Fiji

Staying at this home stay was one of the most impactful experiences I had during my trip to Fiji. It gave me an intimate glimpse into what life in Fiji really looks like outside the resorts and luxury hotels. Communication was very warm and kind from the very beginning, even before I arrived. William responded quickly to any questions and offered his help with organizing transportation and activities during my stay. He even sent someone to the airport to pick me up when I landed. The first words I heard when I arrived were "We have been anticipating your arrival for a month now. We are so happy that you're here." The entire family was warm, kind, and caring. My room was small but tidy. Mind you, this is not a luxury resort, you are going to stay in a family's home and you'll be sharing their bathroom and shower. They are doing their best to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible with the means they have at their disposal. Breakfast was made for me every morning and included fresh fruit, bread, scrambles eggs, etc. - always more food than I could eat. Lunch and/or dinner was made especially for me as well, for an extra small fee. It was delicious traditional Fijian food, the best I had during my entire trip. You won't get such an experience in a resort or hotel. They're currently expanding the house to add more space and a private bathroom for their guests. I would definitely stay here again.
