This stay was amazing! The property is located centrally around all the shops and restaurants with easy access to the beach. The villa was clean and had all the amenities we would ever need. The best part was having the view of the beach and ocean breeze flowing in all day and night for maximum relaxation. I plan on making this a yearly family vacation. : )

The location is incredible. Probably the best located hotel I have ever stayed at. Walk down to the sand is awesome, but I gotta say the room itself is pretty old and not the cleanest. A little too pricey for the room alone.

The property was very nice and the location was amazing. However, I should have paid closer attention to the listing, as the unit did not have air conditioning. Communication was also a challenge—there wasn’t an easy way to contact the host outside of Expedia, and responses were delayed.

The upside: Location, location, location. Dogs are allowed. Clean. The onsite manager was very nice. The downside: Attention to detail— to turn the light on by the living room sofa, you have to pull out an 80 lb couch to access the switch on the cord behind the couch. Lack of convenient electrical outlets for charging. They have a Keurig, but don’t provide pods. Little things but they make you feel like they don’t really care about the experience of actually staying in this place and are relying on the location to make up for everything.

We visit Carlsbad several times a year and decided to try this property for the first time. While the location and ocean views are absolutely beautiful and hard to beat, the overall experience didn’t justify the price for us, especially at the rate per night. The biggest issue was cleanliness. Upon arrival, the floors felt dirty and were covered with sand throughout the condo, making it feel like it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. We also found several long black hairs on the bedding and on the bathroom counter. While they may have been left behind by the cleaning crew, it was still unpleasant and not what I would expect at this price point. The condo itself was fine, but nothing particularly special beyond the view. Another downside was the noise. The walls seem very thin, and we could easily hear neighboring guests, including crying children and barking dogs throughout our stay. Overall, the beachfront location is fantastic, but for the cost, we expected a much cleaner and quieter experience. Unfortunately, while we’re glad we tried it, we will likely stay elsewhere on future trips to Carlsbad.
