The hotel is apparently closing soon which is a shame because we loved it. It was a bit quirky and old fashioned but very clean. The staff were superb and very friendly. The bar service and food quality was good. The position was excellent, convenient for the local restaurants and bus station. You can easily reach it by bus from the airport too.
We stayed for six nights with friends and we all had a great time.
Very impressed with the service and cleanliness of the hotel. Breakfast was outstanding.

Traditional hotel
Fabulous short stay in traditional hotel. Staff excellent. Room could have done with some talc but we booked a basic twin and it was very comfortable.
Food and service in the courtyard restaurant was excellent
The picture’s displayed look stunning. Loved the old style look. When you see for yourself what it actually looks like it’s a real disappointment. Frankly, the whole experience was a real let down.
My main concern was the boiling hot water when trying to have a shower. Unable to regulate the temperature.
Not a place for elderly people, no lift, lots of rugs, lots of stairs with thick carpets. I do not recommend this hotel, waste of money.

Very good staff very helpful and friendly.Good breakfast.
The hotel is lovely - slightly quirky and full of character. Very convenient for town and the beach. The staff were very sweet and helpful. The only downside was not the hotel’s fault - we were there in the heatwave and the room was very hot at night. Also seagulls very noisy at night!

The hotel is in an ideal situation and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However the hotel itself is badly needing some renovation and refurbishment. This may not happen as it is understood that there are other plans for the hotel.
An interesting building. Good breakfast. Our room (46) however was awful! Smelly and grubby with a very outdated bathroom with awful decor, grout missing from tiles, carpet filthy and to make things worse our room was not cleaned at all on the first day even though we had informed reception of our negative Covid PCR results at breakfast time. We were originally assigned a different room but when shown to it on arrival it had not been cleaned since the previous occupiers so there is obviously a problem with housekeeping. The pool area could be nice but again it was tired, grubby and well in need of tlc. We would not have used the pool even if the weather had been hot.
We were given breakfast menus on arrival but these turned out to be wrong as I ordered the eggs with bruschetta and was given underdone toast on thin sliced cheap bread instead.
The meal in Dorans was lovely and the staff there were good and attentive as was the bar staff.
In hindsight we should have complained about our room and could maybe have been given another one which could have made our feelings of disappointment less. Certainly the room we were given was not worth the price we paid.
Hotel was excellent staff very helpful would recommend this hotel, will stay again , unfortunately our stat was cut short due to flights being cancelled we only had 7 days stay instead of 14

The hotel is need of TLC but otherwise a good hotel and good location
We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely meal
The hotel had original character and great personal service.
It felt “local” and certainly was not like the chain hotels which are rubber stamped worldwide.

No Internet Access and hotel told me it is alway bad and yet you advertise it with free WiFi would like to speak to somebody
This hotel has great character with its carved wood panelling and real fires. The bedrooms are a good size, and tea-making facilities are appreciated.
The staff are excellent. The hotel is very well situated being close to the town centre and not far from the ferry terminal. There is a good choice for breakfast, with lovely croissants and pain au chocolate, fresh fruit salad, and full English.
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole atmosphere and the quirkiness. Yes ,the room and en-suite were a bit tired.(what would you expect in a 1700 built hotel!!!! Felt like a castle. Great service and breakfast was awesome. Will be back on regular basis. Lovely wood fire and seating around. Stuart and Jan
