Room had not been cleaned, dirty towels left on kitchen table, garbage in waste baskets . Toilet did not flush properly, ( they did have toilet plunger, thank goodness) smoke alarm was missing, exposed wires. Staff did come in to clean room, but did not warn about the toilet not flushing properly.

This property is older and needs some love. Our unit was spacious with a couch, kitchen, full bed, and bathroom. The check in clerk was lovely and very friendly. The property is in a great location and it was not too noisy. The units are stacked with every unit having its own entrance. However there was definite wear all throughout the interior and exterior, the sliding door did not latch but had a bar bracing it keeping the door closed. There was a rag hanging from one of the vents above the couch. The fire alarm was not hanging but rather sitting on the bathroom counter. This hotel appears to be being used for long term rentals mostly. We were woken up a few times by the renters above us walking around, but this is an older property. Overall I would stay at this property again. I just wish there was some more clean up done around the interior and exterior of the property.

Hours of check in are inaccurate. Arrived before closing and the office was already closed. The property is apart of an apartment complex that is unkept and sketchy. Price is good but it is a scam!!!

The mirror was dirty. The light above the mirror didn’t work. Clump of hair on the bathroom wall. Holes in the wall from where the T.V. Was previously mounted. Door slightly off hinges. Had to lift it up to open and close. No soap or shampoo. No cups to brush your teeth. Kitchen without any plates, cups etc. We had to check out early, and no one was at the front desk till 9:00. Could not return keys. Would love a refund,

WARNING - This property (Affordable Suites of America Grand Rapids) looked to be in terrible condition and when I arrived to get my room the office was closed. I was delayed by traffic coming from eastern Ohio and there was no information on how to reach them. I tried calling the hotel phone number but I was not able to get in touch with them as there “mailbox was full”. In addition, there were three police cars on the property. Had I stayed there I was worried about my car being broken into based on some of the people and activities I saw going on. Since I could not register for my 3 day stay, I had to find other accommodation for those nights. I did not see the rooms but based on exterior conditions of the buildings and parking lot I would not be surprised if they were also not of quality standards. The hotel owners would not respond to requests from Hotels.com so Hotels.com made their decision not to allow for a cancellation or refund (partial or total) before ever getting a decision from owners. Additionally, I had the travel protection which made no bearing on their decision. A very trying situation for starting a vacation.

From when I stayed here 7 yrs ago the property needs to be updated. The rooms really need to be throughly cleaned and fixed up. It is pet friendly . The staff is great the kitchen was vleaned but was not told that I needed to bring my own pots and pans

The place was dirty, dirty dirty. The check-in was late. We had to wait because the room wasn’t ready no towels. There was only one sheet on the bed. No bedspread was afraid to stay there had to go buy supplies and clean the place myself. I asked for a refund from Expedia and I haven’t received one yet.

We were not allowed to check in. They said Hotels.com did not send the reservation to them. I'm not sure who to blame about that, but the property itself was a converted apartment complex, and had sketchy characters wandering the parking lot, and a lot of pot smell. In the end, I was glad we had to re-book somewhere else.

Yes, it is welcome for pets. I don't have a pet. Staff was friendly. Room wasn't clean to the normal standards dust and dirt on the floor, rod for hanging towels and wash cloths was broke.

Check-in time was listed as 1pm. Got there at 11am and was told might be able to get a room by 1pm. Went in person at 1pm and was told none available wait till 3pm. Checked in at 3pm got a room. Went into the room the floor was very dirty was not swept/mopped properly. There was animal poop under the couch. There were no bedsheets pillows blankets or anything for the pullout bed. There were only two lights in the room located in the kitchen. The thermostat kept changing temps on its own. The bathroom is a fall hazard when even the slightest wet. The check-in manager was rude overall. The other guests staying there are rude. Overall for the price it sucks. Hopefully the new company that bought this place will be better

The room was disgusting, the floor was so sticky your shoes stayed when you moved, there was black hair on the walls of the shower, there was God knows what in the freezer and fridge and the couch made you cringe and I sure wouldn't use a black light in the room. The front desk clerk was rude and refused to switch rooms or have housekeeping come and clean the room. Her response was well I can give you a refund and you can find someplace else to go. Apparently they don't like being called out on what needs to be cleaned or that they have nasty rooms

Our heat didn’t work. The thermostat stayed at 60, and we ended up turning the stove and oven on for heat. The sliding door was also left unlock, a bag of trash (13 gallon sz trash bag) was left behind the door entrance, and a used bar of soap was left behind.

We were almost there and our reservation was canceled. And we had to last min find another hotel for our anniversary. So heads up sat and Sunday you cant check in until one or AFTER 2. They close lobby. He said its on the website I looked everywhere its not. Poor customer service and my account was charged 2x so still waiting for 2 refunds, and had to pay for another place to stay. The guy who called to tell me they canceled it, as we were almost there was extremely rude Would give negative stars if i could

Affordable - Cheap

The place is very dated. The room was clean but parts of it looked like it took a beating. Despite being a suite there were no dishes or silverware in the room. No coffee maker, nothing.
