John and Carol are wonderful hosts. It really reminds me of going up for family vacations in the 80's and 90's. Very laid back and helpful if any questions or needs arise. Beautiful Lodge and grounds. Great access to boat slips and great boat launch. Our cabin (daybreak) was literally right over the water. Woke up to waves lapping every morning. Lots for the kids to do and fishing is bar none

A nice peaceful place to stay
I came to the area for my 55 HS reunion. This resort of very quiet and peacefull and a nice place to stay. The only downside is that parking is a long way from the cabin, AND no towels are provided AND there is no A/C. And, this is an older resort and I don't think a lot of money has been put into it to repair and maintain it. One example would be, the screen door has holes in the screen, rather than put a new screen in, they taped up the holes. There are other repairs like this that have been made that should have been done better. Obviously the owners dont want to spend money to upgrade things and fix things right. Even so, this is a very nice place to stay and is worth the money. The staff is very friendly and caring. I recommend staying there. Very nice location and grounds.

No go. Even with a reservation you may not get cab
I never ended staying there. They gave the cabin to someone else and cancelled my reservation while I was on the way there.

We enjoyed the proximity to the bear sanctuary, the canoes available for guest use and being near the lake. There were a few down sides to our trip. No one is given a key to their cabins - so anyone can access your cabin. We didn't know that bathroom towels weren't provided. We found a Menards in International Falls and bought beach towels. There was a mouse in our cabin that woke us up at 2:30 a.m. and the cabin water smelled so bad that we brushed our teeth with bottled water. One staff member was not exactly hospitable toward us when we tried to communicate with him. I don't think we'll be staying at Grey Wolf Lodge (which is actually cabins, no lodge) again.

Loved the cleanliness and the view. It was a bit remote from anything else to do. This is something a different guest might cherish!

Booked a csbin a few weeks ago. The night before our arrival, the property owner sends a message through expedia telling me the cabin is no longer available.. he double booked it! No phone call, just that message. The NIGHT before. It's a good thing I happened to check the message or we would've drove 4 hours without a place to stay. I understand these things happen occasionally, but to just fire off a message like that with no care if the customer actually receives or acknowledges it, is something that can't be overlooked. It speaks volumes for how this business is run overall, so I would never recommend anyone book here. You will likely be very disappointed one way or another.

Superb location and great sites for cabins (ours was right by the lakeshore) with decent spacing between and screening for privacy. The decor in the cabin was very dated for the cost, but perfectly functional. The staff were incredibly welcoming and very helpful. Would go again.
This resort and cabins are amazing. The hosts were welcoming and were waiting for us and knew our name immediately. The cabin was older but quaint and well equipped. The ambiance was calm and the setting on a beautiful lake was gorgeous. I would definitely go back. Great place for families. Many activities!
We stayed to nights in the Northern Lights cabin, this cabin faces the lake and has a large deck with beautiful view of Pelican Lake. Bed was comfortable and cabin was very clean.
Pleasant stay at the cabin. Plenty of things to do if you are not strictly there for the fishing. Lawn games, game and gathering room, canoes and kayak come with cost, and swimming and fishing. Nice place to stay for anyone interested in family time and the great outdoors.
