Excellent Value

After 22 years of travel to Jamaica, I can honestly say Bar-B-Barn is the best value. My accommodations were clean, comfy and cool. Full breakfast with coffee and juice each morning. Staff friendly and pleasant. Check in/check out was uneventful. Security on site 24/7. Beach clean and loungers available. Property grounds always immaculate. Restaurants/bar always spotless. Having stayed at luxury included mega resorts, I can honestly say I prefer small, quaint, family owned properties. Bar-B-Barn met my needs. Totally satisfied with my experience. I will return. Many thanks to Tracey, Renae, Mike for keeping a watchful eye over me.

Not the place to stay.

Was not a clean nice place. No maintenance no housekeeping no restaurant. Very very sad. Could only stay one night because so bad.

There was no hot water and our sink didn’t work no one on property. We got there to check in there was no one on property . They book saying free breakfast but there is nothing available. The staff is simply unaware of what’s going on . This was our second time staying there and it’s simply ran down since the passing of the previous owner . Don’t waste ur money or ur time !!!

Renovation Needed

This place could be the perfect spot, but it is lacking a lot of amenities. It needs some major renovations done. To be honest it is easy access to the beach that is the only plus that I'm giving. The little staff was helpful and nice. I don't think that I would be booking here again. ⚠️

The condition was horrible. Dirty bed linen and bathroom. It appears we were the only guest on the property. It was so bad we left and went to another property to stay.

Run!!! Do not book! No amenities listed. No lightbulbs in room. Toilet don't work. Horrible smell. Workers acknowledge but don't fix and took keys to leaving me locked out after office closed. Expedia added insult to injury by lying about contacting the property for my refund. Told me several times how the contact info they have on property does not work and they could'nt contact the property to confirm. Had to contact my bank with the chat(over 3-4 hours) screenshots to get some resolution. Horrible!

Restaurantes muy malos. En un principio ponia que habia dos. Solo hay uno y la mitad fe lo que ponia en el menu no lo tenian. El aire acondicionado apenas funcionaba. Tuvimos problemas con la luz ( algunas veces no se encendia). Vinieron a verlo pero no hicieron nada.

The room was horrible. There was a big hole in the window we're bugs were flying in the towels and wash rags were very weathered and overused the bed linen was outdated the refrigerator basalt and moldy the list goes on

Right on the beautiful beach! Breakfast, both Jamaican and regular were simply delish! Our house keeper, Kay Ann was so courtious and made sure our room was clean and up to standard! So happy we were fortunate to have her as our house keeper! Such a nice young lady! And then there's Ms. Jackie at the front office! She made sure we were happy with everything and stayed on top of all our concerns, giving total satisfaction! Thank you Bar-B-Barn!

I like that it was not a huge resort, from the main office to the beach was a quick walk along a path filled with beautiful plants. The receptionist was amazing, friendly and very HELPFUL she always greeted me and my brother with a smile. In dont remember her name simply because i had a friendly nickname for her by the second day Jacky or Jacklin (she was tall) If you're looking for a safe affordable place to stay and enjoy negril this is your spot.

Perfect location by the beach!

Very nice staff, very nicely painted room. Fridge was supposed to be included, was not, I negociated so that I got one for free. Perfect location by the beach. If you are looking for a quiet place this is not the place for you, nearby venues have music until 2 AM, which is convenient for reggae lovers. Good value for money :)

Friendliest staff in Negril

The beach spot in front of this hotel in my favorite place on Negril Beach. The complimentary Jamaican breakfast is really delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the place just has a nice vibe. With that said, the hotel is in need of major upgrading. The rooms are quite dated and the restaurant and bar close at 3 PM during slow periods. I love this bar in the evenings, so this was a disappointment. If you do not need to be in your room all the time, Bar-B-Barn is definitely worth the price. The hotel is right next to Bourbon Beach which plays reggae music all the time. This is really nice in the evenings. You can just sit on the beach and listen to the good vibrations. I don't spend a lot of time in my hotel room when in Negril so I will go back because of the great service but I just wish they would upgrade the rooms.

This hotel use to be really nice , but poor updates and water issues made this a fail for me. The water was off everyday for one reason or another. EVERYDAY . I could not flush the toilets or shower at MY convenience. I had to use the bathroom on top of my sister and could not was my hands. The rooms were not updated and look like 1980's

Nette Menschen, große Wohlfühlatmosphäre, super Essen, nettes Personal (besonders Denton & Mike), selbst ein Zimmerwechsel war unkompliziert möglich. Rundum ein Urlaubsparadies :-) Das kleine Hotel ist auf alle Fälle weiter zu empfehlen, wenn man nicht in einer All-Inklusive Anlage wohnen möchte.
