Kids and adults alike loved our stay at Aulani. Managed to check in early after a long flight and got upgraded. Only downside was that there weren’t a lot of eating establishments but we did find a few across the road from the resort.

Drink machines were constantly broken. It smells like aulani and four seasons dump raw sewage into the ocean. After two days of strong smells when the wind blew, The lagoon was shut down by the dept. of health. We found the pipe coming out of the lava rocks on a stroll along the water, that has black sludge draining to the ocean. Guessing we found it. Hotel itself was overall ok. Not worth the asking price per night though.
We attempted to do an early check in. Checked in but our room wasn’t going to be ready until 4 pm. We were able to use the facilities though. But it had to call front desk because no one contacted me to advise me that my room was ready, as they said they would. Then I get to my room and all four rooms f my keys did not work. I called front desk and was waiting for about 30 minutes for them to fix the issue, so I hung up and walked to front desk. The front desk agent was very sweet & was able to help me get the keys fixed and into my room. I didn’t get into my room until almost 5:30. Then I asked for a late checkout to accommodate the 1 hour wait to get into my room and was declined. Facilities was great. I would stay again!!
Had low expectations for Disney (ie zoo of children, long lines etc). Lot of people during Covid, and so the lines at the slide, for food, and getting a lounge chair etc. are noticeable. Lobby has a nice vibe with cool music playing. Villa room has a sofa couch which is reasonably comfortable but I would expect 2 full beds or queen beds for the price. No blankets (just the linen sheets and it gets cold in room at night) so you had to ask for those. Staff are attentive, especially bell service and valet. The housekeeping brings up blankets etc immediately. The snorkeling is excellent and there is a glass outside where you can view your family snorkeling in that pool which was a great photo op. Pool is overall warm, except for snorkeling because of fish survival requirements probably. The jacuzzi in kids pool is broken so you have to walk a bit to get to a jacuzzi; they have adult one but hard to go there alone and just leave kids by selves. They should consider a babysitting service where they watch your kids so you can also enjoy; they do have a lot of lifeguards in any case. The activities themselves sold out even when I went at 745 AM in line for 20 min to signup, and Ukelele was already gone by that point for entire day; they should let you sign up at the beginning and give you a choice of 1-2 to pay for and reserve. Luau was sold out so we went to Paradise cove. Can buy food on the resort with just a door card and passcode. Ate dinner across street, good places/food.
Very clean property!
Lazy river, water slide, and the pools are all very nice!
I felt for the price we should have seen more characters.. there was like 4 of the same ones for 3days.
We had someone jam our door open we found the keypad cover on the floor and called security immediately. They told me no one was in the room.. I was shocked because all of our clothes and bags were moved around and they quickly denied anything wrong. It was weird.
Then we got the ear making. They told us one adult needs to pay in order for the kids (3&5) to do it. So I did. When I went in to help my 3yr old they told me there isn’t enough room for me to be in there and I was asked to leave. It was a Nightmare…
Not all of restaurants are fully open and no room service so there was very limited options for food.
We expect a lot from a Disney owned resort especially this one in HawAii but our experience unfortunately did not meet our expectations. Simple band aid was not available. Every little activity had an additional charge. Our experience was nothing more than ordinary. We had a better a better one at Embassy suites.
Beautiful property with so much to do!!! People are friendly the Luau, The Staff, the Grounds…. Nothing is overlooked! Five Stars and I have no complaints - beautiful weather and first class amenities. Oh I wish they had cheaper food and more choices but You can cook for yourself there and shop in Kapolei at Costco Target and all That ❤️
The Aulani Disney resort is an excellent place for family and a couples. We (5 adults) loved the lazy river and the slides. There are many places to find a place to sit and experience the resort. Highly recommend getting a cabana for the day. We all felt the highlight was the Luau best we’ve ever experienced. And also the spa was top notch!
Overall we went for the lazy river, pools and easy beach access for our two kids 5 and under. They have two great slides as well. Due to restrictions the other fun activities for kids was not available. Service was not the same everywhere you went and the disney experience was lacking. It was nice to see characters since we have not renewed our passes. I could have staid at ant other hotel that had the pool and beach set up I was looking for.
Loved our experience at the Aulani. Snacks/food very expensive. Head across the street to the restaurants and ABC store. They didn’t offer the Kids Club (Auntie’s Beach House), which was a bummer. Overall, beautiful hotel, great amenities (loved the lazy River), and friendly staff.

Kids got no chance to see the mascot restaurants fully booked. My kids cried and got frustrated over a mascot.
If you have a kids between 5-13 years old, then Aluani is great. However, for the price, you can find better much accommodations at Wikiki. The rooms feel very dated. The resort is in a very isolated location which means you are stuck at resort for food and fun. 2 full day is more then enough to enjoy all the pools and resort stuff. Spend the rest of your vacation exploring the island and stay in a high end hotel in Waikiki for the same price.
