Awesome location and great cottage. Rail history is fascinating and location is close enough jump off point for the Alpine Crossing.

We loved the warm family atmosphere and country cottage vibe including the green grass and big maple tree (and swing). Enjoyed the late summer light on the back verandah, and a wonderful roast dinner with the family after a beautiful walk at nearby Tongariro. Warm fireside chats late into the night and then up early the next day for a longer hike. Fantastic base for enjoying the delights of Tongariro National Park.

Bach in a beautiful Raurimu village, close to all the locations one needs to visit in the mountains. Very peaceful. If you enjoy simple things in life - it's a bach for you. Takes you back in time and reminds of what's really important in life!
