Thoughtfully appointed holiday home, lovely neighbor, welcomed with a warm fire. Very dog friendly. Note to future dog visitors they cannot go up Mt buller and Stirling, there is not really any snow where doggies can visit unless it has been falling below 750m above sea level.

Wairere Rest is a really special property and a perfect place for some time away. The cottage is larger than we expected and has everything you could possibly need. The gardens and property were stunning and there's so many great food and wine options in the area. Even a 5-star rating doesn't seem high enough for Wairere Rest and we hope to return at some point in the future.

Our hosts were very accomodating of our extremely late check in time, and we found the property very clean and comfortable. They even offered to help fix a damaged car in our convoy.

A beautiful place with welcoming, caring hosts. Truely amazing. Maggie greeted me on arrival, with supplies for great breakfast in the fridge and delicious home made bread. Sunday morning I was delighted with a freshly baked muffin. The cottage was spotless and very peaceful looking on to a beautifully kept parklike garden. I will come again.

On a fishing trip, perfect location

It was a cosy nice cottage to stay for a small family with all the basic amenities. Host Maggie (Margaret) and her partner were super friendly. They ensured our cottage was warm when we reached there. They even offered to warm up the cottage next day when we came back from our trip from Mt Buller. We had continental breakfast with lot of options to select from and Maggie even baked some cup cakes for kids. We loved the stay and would love to be back next time.
