Lovely cottage in great rural location in the Loire. Beautifully maintained with private courtyards and very pretty garden . Very friendly hosts.

More than most properties - Gille’s sprawling 16th, 17th and other centuries place will mould to your wishes. No heated pool for us and the games room remained quiet. But a wonderful maze with parking for only the Le Mans champs ( like myself). Everything is close and walkable.

We spent five weeks in France travelling from Strasbourg through Burgundy and along the Loire, finishing in Montreuil-Bellay. While other accommodations were excellent, this one was superb. The house was set very close to the chateau ramparts, so was in the heart of the village. The view was breathtaking. This was why I came to France. For the history. The renovations were in keeping with the history of the house with upmarket furnishings and fittings. It was a pleasure to come home after "chateau-ing" to relax in the garden or to visit the local tavern (an absolute must). Communication with our hosts was the best we have encountered in the 35 years we have been travelling in Europe. Steph and John were waiting to meet us, explain all functionalities and give advice on the best local chateaus to visit, along with local town markets which had the best produce and other stalls. Fantastic. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
