This is a cute little cottage set on a hill with great views. It was well appointed with a great bbq but as set away from town (in a good way) be sure to bring all your food with you. The cabin had seasonings and olive oil for cooking. The outdoor bath a highlight. I was a warm day and given the orientation the western sun had warmed up the cabin a bit but the aircon soon cooled it down.

Set below the snow capped mountains, birds and sheep to watch with a cuppa, the warmth of the straw bale home, this home is a awesome base for a kaikoura stay. Be sure to ask Hamish to cook you a smoked lamb shank dinner and a fish curry…beautiful food. We hiked the headland and the beach with the seals, did a whale watch tour, drove to hamner springs, highly recommend this lovely stay, the double day bed is the best seat in the house.
