Trenčín Castle is a rather imposing structure perched on rocks above the town of Trenčín, in Western Slovakia.

Whilst the history of this castle dates back to the Roman Empire, the oldest part currently standing is the stone rotunda, which was built in the 9th century. The castle grew over the centuries, as modern day Slovakia was an important historical trade route.

There is a hiking trail from the town centre to the castle, where various exhibitions document the history of the castle and the region.
