Mazzaforno pet-friendly rentals

We were a bit late arriving at the villa, due to appalling weather and roadworks on the autostrada from Taormina, but were welcomed warmly by Tiziana, and found the villa to be very comfortable and pretty much exactly as described. We had a bit of luck with the weather and managed an afternoon by the very nice pool on the second day. Da Pietro trattoria/pizzeria is about 100m away and the food was really nice (great seafood risotto). Be very careful not to attempt to drive into Cefalu, as the police strictly enforce the residents-only access policy. Also don't attempt to drive in Palermo, as it's very congested and quite chaotic. However, we loved visiting this city, using the fast train from Lascari (station is about 3km away). Don't miss the Piazza dei Normani and the co-located Capella Valentine - the frescos are incredibly beautiful and totally awe-inspiring. We also liked seeing the Cathedral (in Arab-Norman style, with beautiful ornamentation. Villa Laura is comfortable and well-situated for exploring the region around Cefalu. This Villa is amazing! Excellent communication prior to arrival, sensational views out to Cefalu, very well equipped with everything you would ever need, such a warm and friendly welcome from Tiziana on arrival and with any follow up questions during our 6 day stay, 3 large bedrooms and bathrooms and spotlessly clean. Mazzaforno is a few km outside Cefalu so recommend having a car. An easy drive in to Cefalu and good parking options.

We had the most perfect week in this beautiful villa. A 3 generational family reunion in this beautifully appointed property was sublime in everyway. The hosts are the most generous & welcoming couple who could not do enough to help us. Rosanna prepared a couple of dinners for us of local Sicilian fare which were delicious & generous. They also ordered pizzas for us one night which they delivered & were delicious too. Giacco took us to the supermarket for a shop & transported us to the airport when we unexpectedly ended up without a car. The villa feels like being in a private home with everything you could need to cook & enjoy a relaxing stay. The pool area is simply beautiful & the views accross the valley from the villa & pool just stunning. We had a baby, 3 year old & 6 year old & there was plenty of space for everyone with 2 completely separate accommodation areas. There are several oudoor entertaining areas & The hosts live on the property & have perfected the art of being available yet not interfering. It is probably easier to have a car to stay here but we managed quite well without. It is a steep walk into the local town & there are beautiful hiking trails above the villa up into the mountains which are also very steep but with spectacular scenery. We would go back in a heatbeat & look forward to Rosa & Giacco's wonderful hospitality again
