Great location in quiet cul de sac close to town. Lovely family home but not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as all bedrooms are assessable only via stairs or a ladder. We did most of our cooking outside on the BBQ as there is no proper oven inside, this worked for us as we had great weather but it wouldn’t be practical in the colder months. Having two young children (3&5) the ladder to the loft in the living room caused a lot of anxiety, as did the fragile shower door but we survived!

The host was wonderful, I would definitely recommend them. The stay had everything you could think of and more.

We had a great time exploring the Mt Lyford area and enjoying the retro vibe of the log cabin. The record player and vinyls were a big hit with the teenagers. Love a good fireplace and plenty of space to roam. Little bit of a trek to Kaikoura but beautiful countryside.
