  • "A fabulous property and a wonderfully generous host. Unexpected bounty of home grown lemons, fresh eggs and avocados, and barbecuing on the verandah occasionally enlivened by the resident skink. Beds and bedding first class. Ideal spot for exploring Albany and the southern coast line by bike, and Denmark and Walpole accessible by car. Sorry we could not stay any longer. "

  • "What a wonderful, relaxing and cosy home-away-from-home. It's so rare to find holiday accommodation where the owners really have thought of everything. We've only just got back home, and we're already thinking about our next trip back. Can't wait."

  • "Thank-you for most glorious week at Seven Oaks. The house itself and your beautiful garden would have made any visitor feel they had made the perfect choice to stay there, but all your additional touches make it an extra special: fresh bread and home-made marmalade on arrival, a pantry and kitchen cupboards stocked with gourmet ingredients and appliances - we had everything we needed to make cakes, muffins and pancakes with your fresh eggs and goats milk (I've never stayed anywhere where they supplied measuring cups, yeast, organic flour and electric beaters!). We even added your home grown silver beet and herbs to our morning omelettes. What a shame we weren't there to see all your trees in fruit! My toddler was kept entertained with jigsaws, play dough, a sand pit and his own little table and chairs. Not to mention eggs to collect, cows to feed and goats to milk. Thank-you Mary. We shall always remember your kindness and generosity. "

  • "Words cannot describe seven oakes. We arrived in the dark so had to wait until morning to see our surrounds, we weren't disappointed. The kids threw on their wellies and were off collecting eggs, and exploring the wonderful gardens. Helping Mary milk the goats and feeding Janet the cow her apples in the morning are just some of the fun things we did. The boys never got sick of chopping wood or keeping the fire going, and we made bread and generally enjoyed the country life in style for a week. The house is beautiful, we all enjoyed a bath or two and sitting under the pergola in the afternoon with a glass of wine was heaven. We didn't want to go home, so we are planning our next stay as soon as possible. Thanks again Mary"

  • "Seven Oaks provided us with a few days of amazing solitude and peace. The home has a serene ambiance which encourages relaxation. We had to remind ourselves that we were tourists who had never visited Albany before, and therefore had to venture out to see the sights of the beautiful area. The temptation to stay at our temporary home was strong. Seven Oaks is a true home-away-from-home. Everything that one could need is provided, with the well stocked pantry being supplemented by fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden, newly laid eggs from the resident hens, and if one desires, fresh goats milk on a daily basis. Mary is such a gracious host, and she ensures that everything is just perfect for her guests. We would strongly recommend Seven Oaks to anyone visiting Albany. The experience is magic."
