Description

Beached at Straddie is a private waterfront property located on the island retreat of Couran Point, South Stradbroke Island, which is one of the world’s few naturally occurring sand islands. The Beach House is only 15 minutes by water from the northern end of the Gold Coast and is adjacent to the Couran Point Resort Beach Club as well as within walking distance to well known Couran Cove Resort.

The island has quiet sandy beaches, both surfing and calm, picturesque palm trees and beautiful national park bushland which is a haven for wallabies such as the unique golden wallaby which is not found anywhere else in south-east Queensland.

The beach house has 3 large bedrooms, main with ensuite & walk in robe, plus a kids’ retreat or 4th bedroom. Bedding consists of 1 King size bed,1 Queen bed, 1 Double, 2 King Single size plus a double fold out sofa bed. There is plenty of room so an additional double mattress is also available if required.

All linen is provided and there is a fully equipped laundry.

Living and Dining areas are large and open plan with high cathedral ceilings, tastefully furnished and equipped with TV, DVD & VCR plus CD player/stereo system.

The Kids’ retreat is set up with TV, VCR & playstation and can be closed off to be completely separate (and soundproof !) from the main living areas.

The kitchen has stainless steel appliances – dishwasher, microwave, gas cooktop, electric oven and ice maker fridge.

A huge, covered outdoor deck leads off the living areas, fully equipped with barbeque and outdoor furniture, with beautiful water views and onto your very own private, sandy beach with it’s own pontoon.

Your stay at the beach house includes use of:

There is also a motorised golf buggy available for use getting around the island, please note that this is strictly for licenced drivers, there are certain areas on the island where the buggy is not permitted and conditions do apply.

The magnificent surf beach is popular for swimming, surfing, fishing & dune sledding and is a 2km stroll along sandy beach tracks and also accessible by bike.

Guests staying at the beach house have access to the facilities at Couran Point Island Resort which is only a short walk away. As a guest of Beached At Straddie, you are able to use the resort's tropical lagoon pool and tennis courts, as well as their restaurant and bar. Their pool area has a slide into the water, which is a real drawcard for the kids.
