Self contained rammed-earth cottage just 25 minutes south of Hobart in the port township of Kettering.

A new Day Spa facility now available. Come for a facial or full body wrap and stay the night.

The cottage is available all year round, sleeping two adults, but has a fold out sofa for the little ones, or two more adults. A full kitchen with microwave and a complete laundry with clothes dryer, provides a comfortable nightly or longer accommodation.

What to do in the area?

Situated on the magnificent D'Entrecasteaux Channel, Kettering avails the visitor with easy access to vineyard and wineries, essential oil distillery, flower farms, potters studio and weaving, wood turning workshops and Tasmania’s only organic sheep and cow’s milk farm cheesery. Experience the coast line upfront and personal by hiring a sea kayak from Kettering marina.

Take the ferry to Bruny Island where you can visit a penguin rookery, on to Adventure Bay, where Captain Cook dropped anchor, see the beautiful bays and coves, take a dip or try your luck at fishing. There is always something to see and do, and Kettering is the starting place for the Channel area.

Drive along the channel highway to the Huon Valley, walk through the tree-tops at Tahune Air Walk, and explore pre-historic caves at Hastings Caves. You can travel all the way to Cockles Creek, at Recherche Bay, and visit the early French exploer site. Cockles Creek is as far south as it is possible to drive in Australia!
