Voted NSW cleanest and best beach 2006, Dee Why has plenty to offer without the Manly/Bondi prices. This tranquil 1-bed studio is a short stroll to the lagoon, beach and many award winning cafes & restaurants on the newly developed beachfront.

Everything is right at your doorstep, situated only a few minutes walk to the main Northern Beaches express bus to the heart of the Sydney CBD, North Sydney or Chatswood.

A perfect day

A great way to start the day is with breakfast at Dee Why Beach at one of the award winning cafes on The Strand, followed by an awesome take away coffee from Bar Cino and a relaxing stroll along the beach to Long Reef. A promenade, grass picnic stretch and road separates the cafes from the soft sands but does not detract from the views of the glistening seas. Most cafes offer both alfresco and inside dining.

There is a sheltered rockpool at the southern end of The Strand, with nearby changing facilities, perfect for a gentle ocean swim without the need to fight the breaking waves.

Dee Why Beach has its Surf Patrol Pavilion at the northern end of The Strand and this is always the centre of much local community activity.

Dee Why Beach Lagoon, located at the northern end of the beach near Long Reef is tidal and joins the sea at certain times, making a small stream through the sands to the ocean.

If you fancy a very long walk, start at Dee Why, pass Long Reef golf course, venture up to the heads then down to Fishermans beach, onto Collaroy then continue along the endless stretch of Narrabeen beach to the lagoon.

The round trip from Dee Why Beach to the end of Narrabeen is about 10 Km and takes about 5 hours. From Dee Why Beach to Collaroy and back will take about 2 hours. Narrabeen beach runs parallel to Pittwater Road and there are plenty of shops and take-away\'s should you need additional provisions.

If its shopping you are after, we are only 4km or about 12 min driving away from the BEST mall on the northern beaches. With its outdoor indoor layout and eight café/restaurants, where customers can enjoy good food in a relaxed atmosphere. It is the perfect combination of shopping and relaxation.

There are pleanty of parents facilitation in the mall and the rooms contain bottle warmers, nappy change tables, microwave ovens, a secure children\'s play area and toilet facilities. Even with a young child one can easily spend 5-6 hours there, I Know ;)

Guest Reviews

  • "Had a wonderful time staying @ Sommar Stugan. Location was brilliant as we were sigh seeing everything from the city to the beaches. The driveway was a sligh challenge, but kept us fit which can't be a bad thing. The cottage itself was very well equipped and had all we needed including an internet connection. The garden was being re-landscaped whilst we were there, so on the last day when we left it did look fabulous! We made use of the pool and jacuzzi, so after a long day of walking around Sydney, this was an absolute treat. Andre and Jenni are both very hospitable and halped out with lots of advice about just about everything they could. Well recommended and very good value for money!"

  • "Sommar Stugen is a great neat and tidy place. It is nicely tucked away to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay, but still has the city within reach by means of a short drive or bus ride. Jenny and Adre are also very friendly and very helpful hosts. The beach is within a short 10-15 minute stroll and there are several nice scenic walking routes available. (take advantage of them. they're great!) The jacuzzi is amazing!! All in all, Sommar Stugan is excellent value for money and is perfect for a little relaxing break away from all the hustle and bustle of every day life. This place comes highly recommended!"
