Description

SPECTACULAR DESIGN:
This NEW holiday home was architecturally designed to capture the magnificent water views across Moreton Bay, to the mainland and hinterland beyond. Fourteen metres of floor-to-ceiling glass, slides open and ensures you enjoy spectacular sunsets from the living and dining rooms.. perhaps while sipping a chilled champagne or enjoying a glass of cold beer. Louvre windows and overhead ceiling fans allow for the cooling island breezes to circulate and flow throughout the open-plan home.

Upstairs, the master suite is an open-plan bedroom and ensuite area, encouraging "time out" for adults. The bed faces the waters of Moreton Bay, so why not laze in bed or read the Sunday papers while soaking up the wonderful view. Once again, floor to ceiling glass opens from the bedroom onto your own private deck - have breakfast or coffee there, while your friends or family use the one downstairs.

RELAX AND UNWIND:

The second bedroom downstairs has a queen size bed and also enjoys the same spectacular view as the living area. Large glass doors slide back and open onto the shaded deck - why not borrow one of our many books, lay back and relax on your deck chair, or even settle for an afternoon snooze.

Preparing lunch or dinner has taken on new meaning..... enjoy the expansive view from the kitchen and utilise the new stainless steel appliances. BBQ on the deck, and when the sun sets over the bay, the night lights of Redland Bay sparkle to illuminate the mainland across the water.. quite a spectacular sight.

No loud traffic noises to interrupt your peace and quiet... only kookaburras, rosellas and sea eagles gliding along searching for their evening meal.

FOR ACTIVE PEOPLE:

For those wanting "a little more" activity, Macleay Island has a public golf course, a bowls club and some quiet sandy beaches to explore. For the "fisherman", throw in a line at one of many local beaches or fishing spots - you can hire a boat from the local store for a half or full day.

Bring your bike from the mainland, and you can ride around the island until you can "peddle-no-more". Alternatively, use the guests mountain bikes and helmets at Sunset Waters.

Why not "Island Hop" - grab your backpack, water bottle, some lunch and jump onto one of the local ferries to explore Lamb, Russell and Karragarra Islands - ferries leave each of the local jetties, on a very regular basis.

  • "Our stay was fantastic. Pure relaxation away from the buzz of the city, with an unforgettable view - it has earned a spot in our memories. We had lots of fun fishing on the jetty. Sunset Waters was the highlight of our trip to Macleay Island. We'll be back!"

  • "Sunset Waters is what Maclaey Island has been desperately missing. If you are thinking about visiting, it is the only place to stay. The owners have designed a tasteful and unique haven, right on the water, where every detail has been considered. Go on treat yourself, and stay awhile."

  • "On arrival at Sunset Waters for a few days of peace and reflection, I was immediately impressed with the design, the layout and the privacy of this beautiful home and of course, the awesome outlook from the living areas and the deck. I never waivered from my first impression of the panorama of the water, the islands, the Gold Coast high rise in the distance, the passing boats and the birds that chorus in the trees on the foreshore. As I had taken time out for rest and reflection, the view as I explained to a friend at home, was my distraction, my entertainment and my therapy. So pleased I made this discovery. I certainly hope and plan to be returning to enjoy it again. "

  • "Now we are back at home, the wonderful memory of our holiday is fading into the distance, but I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the help & information you provided us with. Our stay at your beautiful home was just amazing, Andrew had been working so very hard, it was just lovely to see him relax. Sunset Waters is so beautiful, from early morning bird watching from the delightful first floor balcony, to cocktails on the deck and the amazing bbq dinners Andrew cooked. We had a very special time at Sunset Waters, it is the little things that make all the difference and you had thought of them all! Once again thank you."

  • "Just to let you know that Sunset Waters was everything I hoped it would be. The house was comfortable and just beautiful!!! The main bedroom upstairs was so my dream bedroom. Everything was in the house for us, it was wonderful to not have to worry about anything. The views-what can I say except, truly beautiful!!! It was a pleasure to cook and look outside to the bay. My kids had a really nice time, fishing, playing board games, watching dvds, using the bikes. We did Island hop to other islands, that was fun. Housekeepers Elaine & John are lovely, always there to help when needed. John was so nice to give the kids some bait to fish with. All in all our holiday at Sunset Waters was everything I hoped and wanted it to be. I am glad I went with my "gut feeling" when first looking at your website - I definately made the right decision on spending our break on Macleay Island, and hope to come back one day. Thank you for all your help in planning this trip and letting us share your wonderful bit of peace and quite. I look forward to returning for another holiday to your paradise. "

  • "I just want to thank you Deb, for having such a beautiful and magical home. It is the first time in ages, I have been away and relaxed so quickly & completely. I simply loved every minute - we will be back! Thanks for sharing your bit of paradise!"

  • "Sunset Waters was exactly as their lovely internet photos display. Spectacular views morning, noon and night, upstairs and down. It was delightful to wake up in the morning looking out over the water and blue sky. The house had everything one needed including little extras like the push bikes and fishing rods. A great location to read, rest and contemplate. "

  • "It was a FANTASTIC holiday! We spotted dolphins twice & my 6 year old daughter caught her first fish (actually she caught three, but one slipped away). I saw curlew, kookaburra and magpies - birds we dont see at home in Singapore. Every day our eyes would just 'drink' in the scenery that surrounded us. As I wrote in the visitor book at Sunset Waters, having this home built and sharing it with others was a really good decision! Elaine (the housekeeper at Sunset Waters)and John (her husband)were just so hospitable. Please thank them again for us. Anyhow, the trip made my husband and I feel 'alive' again. It was a very nice rest stop on life's busy highway! Thanks very much for making all this possible, especially at the last minute! Jan "
