  • "We had the best weekend at Singleton's Retreat! We loved the house and appreciated what a fantastic renovation has been done to make our stay very comfortable. We couldn't fault a thing and highly recommend this beautiful retreat to couples and families alike. The dogs also had a great time exploring such an interesting property. Can't wait to return for a girl's weekend!"

  • "My husband and I have just spent an absolutely fabulous week Singleton's Retreat with our Great Dane who loved the space to gallop, swim and explore. My chef husband had everything he needed/wanted in the excellently appointed kitchen while I took advantage of the peaceful seclusion of the wide verandahs to read and take photos. We mountain biked along uninhabited bush tracks, kayaked on the lovely stretch of the Hawkesbury which fronts the cottage and generally had a wonderful relaxing time. Thanks for sharing your delightful piece of history with us Brad. "

  • "I stayed at Singleton's Retreat last weekend with my husband and two dogs and have to say that this is the most fantastic place. It is an historic house which has been renovated beautifully and sympathetically and is full of quality fixtures and fittings, including a claw foot bath and an amazing kitchen. There is a verandah around three sides of the house with amazing views of the River and also of the surrounding bushland. The land area is large and private (including badminton court) and is perfect for scampering pooches; my two certainly enjoyed it immensely. A wonderful romantic place full of all the mod cons and somewhere I plan to return to soon."

  • "My husband and I recently stayed here for a weekend getaway. Settlers Retreat is a beautifully restored cottage on the banks of the Hawkesbury in a very quiet section of the river. It is only recently completed and has everything you can possibly need for a secluded romantic weekend away, including ultra deep claw footed bathtub and gourmet kitchen! All the little things the owner provided made us feel very welcome! "
