Location

The River House is in a prime location, positioned where the river meets the sea. The tropical back garden is gently landscaped all the way to the edge of "Deep Creek", which is famous in the area for swimming, fishing and boating. It is just 500m down stream from the mouth of the river that opens onto the golden sands of the Nambucca beach, a popular surfing spot.
It is about a 5-minute drive from the sea side resort of the Nambucca Heads and about 30 minutes from Coffs Harbour and the airport with flights going to all the major cities.
The River House is perfectly positioned to nearby resorts, golf links and great dining.
The unique location of this prestigious home not only provides a host of great river activities, but also the option of a surf beach.
All this, and the spectacular views that greet any guest who walks in with an overwhelming instant "Wow" factor, places the River House in a class of its own.

Local Attractions

Nambucca Heads is in a prime spot, ideally positioned to offer a wide range of attractions, both culturally and geographically.
It is just a short drive from the township of Bellingen which is a hub for the local arts and craftspeople with a regular market, specialising in arts and crafts, organic food, live music, and a colourful community.
From the coast at Nambucca Heads through the beautiful valleys of Bellingen to the high mountains of the Dorrigo escarpment, one can take a day trip and experience all of these magical changes of scenery.
The township of Nambucca Heads offers all the modern conveniences, cinema, supermarket, video store and medical facilities. With Coffs Harbour just 30 minutes away there is access to a great range of activities including whale watching, scuba diving, sky diving and go-cart racing!, just to name a few.
The Nambucca River offers fantastic fishing and the golf course beside the river is tricky enough to test even the wiliest golfer. The weather is nothing short of spectacular all year round and of course who could refuse a delicious plate of the famous Nambucca River oysters?

  • "We stayed here for 7 nights with another family who came down from Brisbane. Together we had 3 children under 3 and found the house to be reasonably suitable. It's quite spacious and has a very good living room with plenty of carpeted space for the children to play. The river at the bottom of the garden kept the men entertained for hours with fishing - an excellent hobby on a overcast and drizzly day. The house is just a 10 minute drive to town which has most essentials: a Woolworths, a couple of butchers, a bakery, a couple of chemists etc... At the end of the street is a lovely walk down to the beach which is vast. Loads of space but no shade so take an umbrella or sunshade tent. All in all everyone had a really good time and we'd consider returning once the children are older."

  • "We had a wonderful stay at this enchanted spot with our 3 grown up children, daughter's husband and our grandson. We brought our own Indian Canoe and rented the house Kayak. We discovered grazing kangaroos to the left and a wonderful private beach to the right. The sunsets were marvellous (in spite of the mossies). We would certainly seek to book again when we next come to Australia. It is a magic house. Thanks Stephen!"

  • "Beautiful house, comfy beds, short walk to the beach at one of my favourite places on the coast. Lucky we were only on holdiays, as I could get way too used to that."

  • "We absolutely loved the house and the location - it had everything we needed. With a young daughter we were after a house that allowed us to fish and crab literally from the back door. Not to mention relaxing on the backdeck with a drink as the sun set with picturesque river and mountain views. The heated spa was also very relaxing and invigorating. Nambucca is a beautiful town - we hope to be back at the River House again soon!"

  • "What a fantastic place!! I took my family here for an Easter holiday that we will always remember. With 8 of us staying in the same house I was a bit worried we would get in each others way, But I neednt had worried as it was perfect. There was plenty of room for all 8 adults in our group. We loved sitting on the balcony at night listening to the fish jumping in the estuary and just relaxing. The spa/hot tub was an added bonus after a hectic day at the beach or on the river fishing. We had plenty of room for entertaining the local family members that dropped in for dinner or drinks during our stay. We hope to be back again next year without hesitation. Thanks Steve for sharing your fantastic holiday home with us. There was so much to do and not enough time."

  • "We (4 adults) stayed at the River House in early July and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The weather was crisp and we appreciated the gas heater, wood stoves, and hot spa! The lush 180 degree view of the river and vegetation allowed us to enjoy the outdoors even when we were indoors. We had long walks on the off-leash beach with our dog and watched birds from the viewing deck by the river. We were also able to cook fabulous meals in the well-appointed kitchen. We would definitely recommend the house for anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday!"

  • "Wonderful location nestled on the river bank. The guys spent many an hour fishing and enjoying the relaxation. The girls and the pooches enjoyed fabulous walks along the beach and swims in the river. Great open plan house and many a meal and glass of wine on the balcony. Would recommend for couples or families."

  • "What an amazing house and an amazing location! The house is open and spacious with a beautiful garden and fantastic river views. The river is literally on the doorstep (taking the kayak out for a paddle is definitely recommended) and a short stroll through beautiful bushland leads to a quiet, dog-friendly, surf beach. Thumbs up all round - we definitely plan to return!"

  • "We had a fantastic time at the River House. The house itself was spacious and well-equipped. We spent most nights sitting on the balcony looking out over the beautiful garden to the river and saw some amazing sunsets. The beach was a short walk away through rainforest-type bushland. The beach was near deserted, was absolutely pristine, and was loved by the 4-legged friends as much as the 2-legged ones! We were talking about going back to the River House even before the end of our week-long stay... "

  • "Well appointed and comfortable house with an exceptional view over river estuary. Interesting walk to beach through nature reserve. Lots of whales and dolphins visible off the beach. Will return for a longer stay one day soon."
