the Lakehouse @ Loch Sport

Unforgettable! the Lakehouse @ Loch Sport is the ideal getaway. Whether it be a romantic relaxing weekend with special loved one, building family memories to last a lifetime, adventurers seeking the ultimate catch, or spending time on and in the water, the Lakehouse has it all.

Location, Location, Location
Situated on the foreshore of Lake Victoria in Gippsland Lakes, the comfortable holiday house is a comfortable 3 hour drive from Melbourne. Loch Sport is a town that draws you back in time. You will have no choice but to leave your daily stresses behind as you experience Australia the way mother nature intended. Loch Sport is uniquely situated between Lake Victoria and the famous Ninety Mile Beach. It has a small supermarket, a Marina with a great Pub, a bakery, a café and a fish n chips shop that serves the area well.

Water abounds
It\'s your choice, Will it be the calm peaceful lake that sits on the backyard today or the famous Ninety Mile Beach? If you can\'t decide you can have both. The lake (aka the backyard) offers something for everyone. Dolphins in summer, a safe swimming (shallow & sandy) beach for the kids, fishing options galore. You can even park the boat in the backyard. Ideal for powered watersports such as wakeboarding and water-skiing or go man powered adventuring with a canoe & paddle (can be supplied).

However, if its the Surf you want, there\'s 90 miles of pristine beach line only 3kms away. Sitting around a small campfire at Sunset on 90 Mile Beach watching and listening to the waves crash on shore is one of those must do in a lifetime experiences (restrictions may apply).

The Lakes National park
At the end of the road in Loch Sport is The Lakes National Park where there have been tales of sightings of the infamous \"Tasmanian Tiger\". If you don\'t catch a glimpse of the tiger you are guaranteed to bump into the Australian icons including Roos, Wallabies, Emus, Koalas, Birdlife - including Sea eagles, and rare Australian Orchids.

Fishing Heaven - Gippsland Lakes & 90 Mile Beach
There is a boat ramp about 100 metres from the house which will take vessels up to 5m. Plenty of land based fishing options as well with many jetties and rock groynes. In the lake the main fare is: Gippsland Bream (big bream), Flatties, Whiting, Mullet, Salmon and Tailor. Gummy Sharks, Salmon Mullet, Flatties and Tailor are other common species off the surf. Every now and then, some lucky fishermen land Mulloway, Snapper, and even Tuna off this famous Fishing beach.

Other Activities in Loch Sport
* 18 hole golf course
* Tennis courts
* Public picnic areas with BBQs and playgrounds
* Walking trails / bike paths
* Wildlife watching
* Bushwalking

  • "That's a very nice place to stay for holiday, my friends and I all have a enjoyable two day there ,thanks for all !cheers David(Huilin)"

  • "Fantastic house, plenty of space, great location. The canoe was also a fantastic bonus that was great fun. Also fantastic that there were two living areas with TV's. Thanks to Dan for his great communication."
    Lizzie, January 2009

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It's not a flashy holiday house, but it's simple, clean and "beachy", located right next to the lake, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. (The coffee machine in the kitchen got a fair workout.) We spent our days canoeing on the lake, beachcombing on Ninety Mile Beach, bushwalking in the national park, and lazing on the house's balcony watching the kookaburras and rosellas. The Sunday carvery at the pub was good honest tucker (and great value), the bakery does a good pie, and the supermarket was pretty well-stocked and not overly pricey. Overall we found that Loch Sport's tranquility plus the simplicity of the house forced us to slow down and relax - just perfect for a peaceful long weekend. We'll be back for another one in 2009."
    Martin, January 2009

  • "We had a lovely stay with a full house. The two living areas meant the kids could watch a DVD while we watched the news. Also loved the amazing view out of the kitchen doors - arching tea tree framing a view of the lake and the "private" beach. The big "sand bag" meant we could pick up passengers from right there. The birds were also a delight with a parrot roosting on the back verandah and two Kookaburras trying to eat the BBQ!"

  • "Very comfortable and clean home with plenty of room. We had 10 people and everyone had a bed to sleep in. The access to the lake in the back yard was awesome. When we come back to loch sport we will stay at the lakehouse again. "
