Description

The best way to describe Fawlty Farm is that it is has all the components of a very large house, but here they are separated and spread out over a small area. The focal point is the 'Big Top'. This is an open-sided but covered area of some 150sq.mt. There is an open fire pit in the centre surrounded by 3 tables each seating 10 people. There are a total of 7 different ovens, spits, grills and BBQ's both gas and wood fired to delight the most ambitious cook. Lighting is by gas table lamps and gas flares. The centre piece is the largest cedar Hot Tub (12 persons) in Australia. Connected to this is a building that houses the substantial kitchen and living rooms as well as the bathroom(2toilets and 2 showers) complex. Behind here is the pool room with a wall plasma and reverse A/C. The bunkhouse is connected to these by a covered walkway. Here there are 2 rooms with 6 bunks in each. Next to these buildings are the 4 separate A frame huts that have a double bed and 2 folding camp beds in each.A short walk along a brick pathway is the Lake House built beside our private lake. This 2 storey cottage has a queen sized bed and a slipper bath upstairs and a kitchenette/lounge downstairs(and toilet) opening on to the verandah. The whole property has a total of 5 double beds and 12 single beds as well as the 8 folding beds suitable for children 4-10yo.. The whole environment of the farm is perfect for a group of 20-30 friends or family looking for a place with great facilities and loads of interesting accommodation. There is plenty of space for your cars boats and caravans. You can bring your dogs(enquire first) and horses. The private lake is stocked with fish and is safe for swimming but is not fenced. The 300 acres is steeply undulating country with a mixture of open grassy paddocks and dense natural bushland. Perfect for that getaway where the only sounds you will hear will be yours or the abundant wildlife. The property does have several houses in the vicinity so the normal EPA noise restrictions still apply. These will be explained to you in detail if you submit an email.

Facilities and Pricing

The whole facility will accommodate 22 adults and 8 children under about 10yo. You may bring more children than 8 but this would reduce the no. of adults. So max. total is 30 people with adults to a max. of 22. The pricing is based on expecting you to make full use of what is being offered. The rates will not change if you have less people than 30 or more children than adults! Weekend rates are $3190. Midweek $1100 day. Long weekends, Easter, Cup weekend all vary. Bond is set according to group type.The property is primarily set up for Outdoor Recreation. Our main pursuits are Bushwalking,Mountain bike riding, Fishing and Horse Riding. Please enquire about details regarding these facilities. All male groups are regarded with suspicion. Noise and behaviour expectations will be explained in detail. Fawlty Farm is not a suitable venue for wild outrageous parties.Sorry.

Location

The Taylor Bay area of Lake Eildon is unique in that access to the Lake from here is only possible through private land. Also there are no public facilities in the Bay, making the area very safe as well as quiet and secluded. The small but delightful township of Eildon is only 7 mins. away and the Dam wall with year round boat launching is another 5 mins. Remember that when water levels are low, the most water is at the Dam wall and you will see from the map how close Taylor Bay is from the wall.
