Our River House, affectionately known as Marli ( Aboriginal for Black Swan) is situated on a quiet bend of the Carlton River, 15 mins walk from the beach, the water is crystal clear and both marine and bird life abound.
Absolute waterfront, absolute peace and quiet. You can relax in our quirky Boat shed, nap on the daybed or strike up a fire in the Mariners kettle to poach oysters, collected from the shore on the private beach, a step down from the jetty. If action is your style we have a purpose built volley ball / badminton court in the yard to keep you fit. The house is set up for relaxation with cosy nooks and a view from every room. Spending time @ The River House is sure to rejuvenate and inspire well being. Carlton River is a natural location, unspoilt with over development, this is the perfect possie for your friends and family. Sleeping 5, there is room for 2 couples or a family.

Carlton River is a 20 min drive for Hobart Airport.
Approx 40 mins from Hobart CBD.
Less than one Hour drive to Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsular.
From Your nautical abode, you will find a short cut to the Tasman peninsula and Port Arthur. This road cuts travelling by 20 mins and provides you with magnificent scenery as you skirt alongside Fredrick Henry Bay.
Close to Marion Bay and the location of the famous Falls festival, this is an excellent choice for making a base to enjoy what the East coast has to offer. Fantastic walks, notable natural wonders, serenity and peace. Ah the quiet lap of the river @ your doorstep, there is nothing to disturb, bar the native birds and a few friendly possums @ night.
BBQ and relax right on the water
We love to share our quirky boat shed with friends and family, No doubt you will do the same. Even in winter you will enjoy being right on the water. A spot of fishing or simply a quiet drink or two by candlelight, this definitely is a place to unwind and enjoy the romance of being together in a beautiful location.
KAYAK AND CANOE USE.
We have one kayak which is available for hire @ $15 per day for the duration of your booking. This is provided for our guests use only.
This is a sturdy, buoyant, sit on top kayak.
Please note the Canadian Canoe seen in The photographs is not available for hire.

PLEASE NOTE.
The River house is offered for Private guests and Domestic rental only. Private functions and parties are not permitted. The advertised tariff does not provide for the extra costs associated with functions such as cleaning, extra wear and tear, rubbish removal and utility costs. Failure to comply may result in termination of tenancy.
For each stay we request a $500 bond which is a security to ensure that should there be any damage, excessive wear and tear, extra cleaning, or excessive use of water, being that it is tank water only, there will be an appropriate extra charge.
The Tariff will be adjusted accordingly, if there are extra guests.
The bond amount is $500, which is payable by credit card only. This will be held in trust and will be refunded in full once the property has been checked and cleaned.

The River House advertised Tariff includes 2 guests. Maximum guests = 5 adults. Bedding @ The River House includes 2 x Queen Beds, 1 x Single Bed, A Port o Cot can be supplied @ $10 per night. All linen is included.
