  • "We spent a lovely two nights in the beautiful and secluded Wombat Crossing. Robyn had the fire lit and ready for us when we arrived, a lovely welcome topped off by the beautiful Millie and Oscar. It was the perfect location for our girls' weekend to relax and rejuvenate."

  • "We enjoyed our stay very much indeed. The cottage has real rustic charm (no that's NOT a euphemism for run down), is very clean and well appointed and the bush setting is beautiful. Being all solar is no problem at all and makes you feel like you are doing your bit for the planet! (Feeling guilty typing this on computer powered from electricity generated from brown coal.) Our hosts Ian and Robyn were lovely and provided nice touches such as fresh flowers on the dining table and supplies for the first morning breakfast. Two delightfully playful (but gentle) border collies made us feel very much a home. If you want to really get away from it all, we highly recommend Wombat Crossing. John and Janet "

  • "Fabulous secluded cottage. Wonderful hosts Ian & Robyn had fire lit for us upon our return late at night from local open air concert. Beautiful Border Collies, Milly & Oscar will greet you upon arrival. Fantastic dogs!! And lovely hosts!!"

  • "Adorable attention to detail with the old nick nacks from the area! Be warned this is well hidden, well worth it and easily findable with the directions provided by Robyn. Very friendly dogs to take you for a walk through the bush to the river. Only flaws are that TV reception was poor (but its not needed anyway) and better value if you have the time to stay for more than 1 night. Would recommend for those that are looking for a quite retreat."

  • "We had a lovely, relaxing two nights at Wombat Crossing over the Melbourne Cup weekend. The cottage is in Glenlyon, about 15 mins outside of Daylesford and a few km's off the main road (note: dirt road!!) The property is superbly quiet and secluded - literally the only thing you can hear is the buzzing of the bees in Robyn's stunning gardens. The cottage has two bedrooms, a comfortable lounge/dining area with a raging combustion fire which warms the entire house. There is a functional kitchen with gas stove and a microwave and every thing you would expect or need for a mini-break. The bathroom has a small shower - no bath - and a delightful view down towards the Loddon River. The main bedroom has perhaps the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on (Queen size, lovely linen and ample pillows) and block out blinds. The second bedroom has two single beds. The property is on 70 acres and runs down to the Loddon River. There is a lovely dam and the beginnings of a small winery amongst beautifully established gardens. We particularly loved that the property ran on solar power and that Robyn and Ian are all about sustainable living. The farm is an oasis of calm and whilst it is perhaps not that private (the guest cottage abuts the main house) Robyn and Ian take ridiculous care to tip toe around you and really do succeed in making you feel like you are the only people there. Lovely people and amazing hosts - we really enjoyed it and will visit again. Our tip for Daylesford - the Farmers Arms Hotel; Spectacular food and service. We ate far too much at lunch otherwise we would have been back for dinner the same night. For the first time in my life I would suggest skipping the fries and ordering the broccolini instead - perfection. "

  • "We had a lovely stay in the cottage, it was very cosy with the fire going, and very well-equipped. Also nice to go for walks in the bush accompanied by the gorgeous dogs! Would definitely recommend."
