Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois holiday rentals

This was the perfect place to spend 10 days in Paris - a lovely comfortable apartment overlooking the Eiffel Tower, a vibrant neighbourhood full of cafes, markets and restaurants but a quiet apartment. We explored Paris but loved the time just wandering the area, shopping with the locals then relaxing on the balcony with a wine and dinner, watching the tower twinkle (could even see it twinkle while lying in bed!)

This the second time we have stayed in this apartment . The apartment is delightful with good access to the main features of Paris. It is great to be able to look out on the trees of Place Dauphine and enjoy the sounds of the games of petanque being played. My husband is getting quite good at it. Communications with the owner /manager were excellent and we look forward to possibly staying there in the future.

This apartment is in a fabulous location close to the Pompidou Centre and in The Marais/Beaubourg district of Paris about a 10 minute stroll to the Paris Hotel de Ville. There is a Metro station (Rambuteau) very close, as well as a food store with all the provisions you could want, a pharmacy and lots of specialty shops for bread, wine, cheeses, patisserie, charcuterie, and lots of restaurants and eateries. This is an exciting and lively part of Paris. The apartment is clean, has all the conveniences you need and is ideal for a couple. It is quite small and compact, but comfortable and the two large opening windows overlooking the street let in lots of natural light and air. It is romantic in a snug, bohemian sort of way. We are a couple in our early 70’s but active and we found this very much to our liking for nine nights. However the apartment is on the fourth floor, which people with mobility issues could find challenging, although there is an elevator once you get yourself and your bags to the first floor (a tiny elevator for 2 people or one person with luggage). One of the best things about this apartment is the owner, Louis, who is extremely helpful. He met us there and showed us how everything worked, then walked us around the local streets showing us where things were and made excellent recommendations for where to buy food, restaurants, where the taxi rank was, etc. - worth the fee he asks for meeting you and showing you around.
