Holiday rentals near Lake Shannon

Four of us stayed here for a week while day-hiking in the North Cascades. We really appreciated the eco-friendly emphasis -- the ability to compost, recycle, and set aside food scraps for the chickens; the encouragements to conserve water and other resources; the fresh, homegrown produce; the synthetic-fragrance-free zone. Terri even permitted us to try charging our electric rental car overnight. While the electrical system ultimately proved unequal to the task, the experience was emblematic of Terri's warm efforts to be accommodating. The house is full of character, and we found it nice and cozy when we had a fire going several chilly nights. Those with mobility challenges should be aware that the stairs to the top floor are quite steep. Distances to some of the North Cascades NP trailheads are long, but Rockport State Park and Sauk Mountain afforded some nice options nearer by. Overall, a lovely stay!
