Wairere Rest is a really special property and a perfect place for some time away. The cottage is larger than we expected and has everything you could possibly need. The gardens and property were stunning and there's so many great food and wine options in the area. Even a 5-star rating doesn't seem high enough for Wairere Rest and we hope to return at some point in the future.

We loved our stay, the host was very accommodating and communicated with us before and before our arrival with clear instructions on getting there, things to do and self self-check-in in process. We had everything except the marshmallows to toast on the fire. Being city slickers we had no idea how to start a fire, luckily our host was at hand to start it for us.It's on a big enough property that our schnauzer enjoyed walking around freely but kept her on a leash most of the time.Thanks so much Paul and Cathy

We were an extended family of 8 adults, staying in Lake Eildon to attend a family wedding. House was excellent, very well equipped, gorgeous grounds, wonderful fireplace and large lounge area. Property owner was extremely helpful, very easy to communicate with. A very enjoyable stay - just wish we could have stayed longer!
