Although the cottage was very good, when we looked for a holiday cottage we searched for a accessible place. This one came up as accessible but unfortunately was far from it. When we got our confirmation it said it had a step in the property which wasn’t to bad. There was a step on the drive one to get into the cottage one inside to the passage one into the bathroom and one into the utility room. And the passage was rather narrow which made it rather difficult to assist my wife with the steps.

We had a fabulous fortnight at Shore Meadow.
We had a fabulous fortnight at Shore Meadow. The garden is split into two, which makes it ideal for the dogs to run around like loons in the fully enclosed garden. The other part of the garden has a low wall which our large dogs could jump over. This wasn't an issue for us as we kept them in the enclosed part. Still loads of room for them and it was easy to wipe their paws at the kitchen door before letting them back in. The front porch area was also great for storing coats, boots etc after a long walk on the deserted beaches.
The cottage itself was well equipped and was warm and cosy with the heating on. The sofas are a bit soft as has been mentioned on previous reviews, but we were lucky with the weather and were out most of the day.
As mentioned on previous reviews, the decking could do with some attention.
All in all, we would definitely return. The communication from the housekeeper Mel was excellent.

We went to shore meadow for a ‘mini moon’. It was exactly what we needed after the hectic few months prior to our wedding. The views from all the windows are incredible and the peace and quiet and comfort of the cottage was fabulous. Guide dog Emerald loved the garden and the beach.
We hope to be back again soon.

The cottage is perfectly located for a quiet relaxing holiday only yards from a wonderful dog friendly beach. The garden and patio is very child and dog friendly secure and well kept. It is very well equipped there wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t there. From there it’s up to you how much you want to do either on foot or to drive to.

Beautiful Cottage in a beautiful location...if you want peace and quiet this is for you. If you need shops on your doorstep this is not for you. We loved it, clean tidy and has everything you could possibly need. Right on the beach, great walks for the dogs. Highly Recommend will come back.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location.
A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. 10 out of ten for everything except local amenities. There was nothing in the village except a pub that we were aware of. Having said that we went for fish and chips in Haverigg very good and Millom was great for shops and restaurants would recommend Da Vinci’s Italian Restaurant, went there twice it was so good even a post office and (didn’t need to use them) public loos. The dogs loved the beach and being able to run freely and safely for miles off the lead. We would recommend Shore Meadow every time. Thank you.

Wonderful location if you are looking for peace and quiet, 4 miles to nearest shop, mostly the only sound were the waves and the birds. The property is very spacious warm and comfortable, large gardens covering 3 sides of the property with the back garden secure and safe for my dog. Only negative comments is the kitchen and the back bedroom needs doing up.

Lovely dog friendly bungalow moments from a quiet but beautiful beach.
Lovely dog friendly bungalow moments from a quiet but beautiful beach. Safe garden for dogs, pub 15 minute walk gave us a warm welcome and good food/drink at reasonable prices. Great base for touring the lakes and sites. No local shop but a ten minute drive to Millom and you have all you need for groceries and eating out/takeaways. Only slight issues are the decking/patio needs to be repaired/removed - could cause a fall/trip, the bathroom mirror needs to be lowered for those of us under 5foot 8 inches and could do with some firmer pillows not puffs of air. But none of these are deal breakers and we would recommend without hesitation. We would definitely book again.

Lovely clean, warm cottage.
Lovely clean, warm cottage. Great location, near beach and large enclosed garden for dogs. Well equipped kitchen , excellent view from the kitchen and garden. No local shop but good pub in village serving food and take dogs very welcoming. Felt one of the bed rooms needed an up date , sofa not as comfortable for the older person also telly small ( again for the older person to see ) .
Patio needs a look over .
Great stay , would love to return.

3rd time at Shoremeadow. Like it very much. Nice makeover in bathroom since last visit in 2015! What is there not to like at Shoremeadow? Notice the little reminders about the steps have gone. But love it just the same.

Would definitely recommend Shore Meadow.
Would definitely recommend Shore Meadow. Close to the beach for long morning walks if you are up for that. Cottage was very good every thing you need is there and couldn't be faulted. We had a break in power whist we were there - nothing to do with the cottage - fault in the supply and that is when we met the neighbours - absolutely fabulous. Outage didn't affect them and so they phoned the supplier and laid on flasks of hot water for our morning tea and coffee. Fantastic views all around the cottage. Rolling hills right round to the sea and its beautiful sunsets.
Whilst in that area a must visit is King Billy's pub / restaurant. Steak there is mouth watering and the host is very welcoming. We would stay at Shore Meadow again no question.

Had a lovely week in this cottage.
Had a lovely week in this cottage. I wanted just a quiet week with my dogs and this was the perfect location. The beach was mainly pebble unless the tide was out, quiet and if you're prepared to walk up it a bit you can have it all to yourself. Perfect for the dogs. Cafe and toilets on the beach. The cottage with it enclosed garden was perfect for my two dogs. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks
Jayne
