Lawned garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and BBQ. Bike store. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a covered pond in the garden.. The unusually named Zonnebloem (it’s Dutch for ‘sunflower’ which is a theme throughout the house) is a lovely semi-detached holiday property in the village of Brymbo, on the outskirts of Wrexham. The well kept garden has a delightful patio on which to enjoy a glass or two of wine, and there are glorious views over to the Cheshire Plain in the distance. With two living rooms and three bathrooms, there’s plenty of space too, and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay just perfect. The nearest pub is just 100 yards away, whilst there are restaurants and other eateries within easy reach.
This makes a wonderful base for exploring the area too, the Alyn Waters Country Park is just a short distance away, whilst you can find out about the interesting tales of the Yorke family at the historic mansion at Erddig (National Trust) just a few miles away. Another National Trust property locally is Chirk Castle which is well worth a visit (and the cream teas are scrummy too!). From Llangollen Wharf you can take a trip on a horse drawn canal boat or walk the towpath of the beautiful Llangollen Canal, and if you’ve a head for heights, walk over the amazing Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Also in Llangollen are the magnificently restored trains of the Llangollen Railway, steaming through the Dee Valley to the little town of Corwen. Historic Ruthin is worth spending time exploring the little streets which radiate down the hill from St Peter’s Square in the town centre. Here you’ll find a vast range of individual shops, quaint cafés and tea shops, and the feared Ruthin Gaol, though fortunately the staff are very nice and welcome visitors these days! In the market town of Mold you’ll find Theatr Clwyd offering a range of stage performances all year round, whilst just over the border is the historic city of Chester with its city walls, unique shopping Rows and impressive cathedral. Alternatively, it is just a 25-minute drive to Chesire Oaks Designer Outlet, where you can enjoy lunch out and browsing the shops. Shop 500 yards, pub 100 yards and restaurant 1 mile.

Great place to stay for travelling around North Wales and Western England. Great hosts who couldn’t have been more pleasant or helpful, even gave us own grown Runner Beans and Apples which we put to good use. Would definitely stay here again when we next visit the area.
