Acorn Cottage is a single storey, detached cottage, situated in a no through lane beside the main thoroughfare through Conon Bridge. It is within easy walking distance of Conon Bridge and makes an ideal, accessible base for exploring the Highlands. The village of Conon Bridge has most amenities, a good selection of small shops, pub/restaurant, and a café.
The cottage has an attractive good-sized living room with welcoming soft furnishings and there is a small but well-equipped kitchen with drop leaf table and a prettily presented double bedroom. The petite garden at the rear of the property is a real delight. Accessed through the gate immediately to the left of the front door, this sheltered suntrap garden has a small lawn with outside dining table and chairs, surrounded by tubs and flowering plants. There is a shed available for bikes and other holiday equipment.
The beautiful River Conon provides wonderful walks along the riverbank only a moment away from the cottage. The Highland capital of Inverness is just a short drive away. This delightful city has a wonderful variety of fine restaurants, bars, shops, and cafés as well as museums, art galleries, theatre and cinemas. Flowing through the centre is the River Ness, a wonderful river with riverside walks and parks to meander and explore. The nearby Black Isle is well worth a visit, with its charming fishing villages and unspoilt sandy beaches. And of course, it is home to the resident bottle-nosed dolphins which frequent these waters. A trip to Loch Ness is must, with the ruins of the imposing Urquhart Castle on the loch side. Conon Bridge is also convenient for trips to the west, with Ullapool and Skye both within an easy day’s drive. Beach 15 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
