ROUSSELIE HAUTE PERFECT FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN -Rousselie haute is a stunning converted barn, south facing set on top of a hill with fantastic views over the beautiful Dordogne countryside.
The house has been set up for families with children with many toys and amenities designed to keep children entertained and engaged allowing parents to relax.
The fully fenced heated pool has a lockable gate and security cover.

CHILD SAFETY - There are stair gates at the top and the bottom of the internal staircase.
All of the doors leading to the balcony are lockable.
There is safety netting on the upstairs landing.

The barn has high speed internet connection and very good mobile phone signal.

Inside the many large windows make the property especially light. The house is very well equipped for both adults and children. We do allow dogs ( check with us first there is a charge ).

For all chefs – our kitchen is very well equipped with many appliances including – blenders, mixers, air fryers etc etc. Our guests have free use of our extensive herb garden, fresh eggs from our chickens and any seasonal fruit ( see below )

FULLY FENCED HEATED POOL WITH GREAT VIEWS -The pool is secured with a security fence with lockable gate and a security cover which can be fitted when the pool is not in use ( both meet safety standards NFP90306 + NFP90308 ).
The pool is heated, guaranteed 28 degrees from June 15th to end of August allowing swimming when non heated pools are too cold. In low season 24 degrees.
In low season we try and keep the temperature as high as possible, using the cover at night. If you want the pool hotter the cost of using the pool heater in low season is 20 euros for 24 hours ( check with owners when booking ).
The pool varies in depth between 1m in shallow end allowing children to touch the bottom. and 1.6m There are sun beds, umbrellas, solar heated shower and many pool toys.

THE GARDEN AND OUTSIDE - Our guests have exclusive use of the garden in front of the property (enclosed 1 acre south facing ) and heated swimming pool .
The garden contains many beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. The large walnut tree providing shade when it gets too hot.
The covered patio area in front of the barn has tables and chairs for outdoor dining including 2 barbeques.
For the children a football pitch with 2 goals, beautiful wooden playhouse, swings, slides, basketball hoop, and many outdoor toys. For adults and children a petanque pitch and table tennis.
We keep chickens, guests are welcome to collect the eggs always a favourite with children.
We also have an extensive herb gardens where guests can help themselves. We have many fruit trees including apple, cherry, plum, pear depending on the season can be available to take.

PET FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION-After having a dog ourselves we know how difficult it can be to find pet friendly accommodation. Rousselie haute is perfect for your dog - with a large garden allowing them to run free.
There are great walks for your dog straight from the house and we can help you to organize the vet ready for your return to the UK. There is a large dog cage available for use if required. ( Please check with owners before bringing dog )

THINGS TO DO IN THE DORDOGNE-The department of the Dordogne in south-west France is one of the most beautiful and visited regions of France. With its unspoiled countryside, stunning chateaux, beautiful ancient towns and villages, pre-historic caves, world famous local gastronomy and wines/vineyards.

At Rousselie Haute your are perfectly located to visit all the various regions and attractions of the Dordogne, Perigueux the capital of the Dordogne is only 15 minutes away as is the beautiful village of Brantome .

LOCAL MARKETS-One of the great pleasures of visiting France is to enjoy wandering through a traditional French market selling wonderful local produce . Here in the Dordogne it is possible to visit a market every day of the week - remember most are finished by lunch time so don't leave it too late.

PRE-HISTORIC DORDOGNE-The Vezere valley is known as cradle of European civilization with more than 50 caves and rock shelters, traces of settlement, burial places have been discovered in the region. Fifteen of these sites are so important they have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites; including the famous Lascaux cave at Montignac.

THINGS TO DO-For those feeling more energetic there are many things to do including -

There are many river beaches/lakes in the area the best locally being lake Jemaye with its sandy beaches, childrens play areas, restaurants, bird watching hut, fishing and free canoeing.

TRAVELLING TO ROUSSELIE HAUTE

DRIVING
We think that driving here is often the best solution, cheaper than flying, no need to hire a car. Many of our guests stop off halfway which is still cheaper than flying/carhire.

The ferry port/channel tunnel of Calais is around 8 hours drive.

The ferry port at Caen around 6 hours 30 minutes.

The ferry port at St Malo just over 6 hours Directions.

The ferry port of Dieppe is around 7 hours.

FLYING

The 3 nearest airports are Bergerac ( 1 hour ), Limoges ( 1 hour 30 minutes ) and Bordeaux ( 1 hours 45 minutes )

There are many airlines flying to these airports ( constantly changing ) cheapest are probably Easyjet to Bordeaux and Ryanair to Limoges.

Cars can be hired directly from all these airports.


The swimming pool will be heated to 28 degrees in mid and high season ( June 15th to Aug 31st ). In low season 24 degrees. Guests can pay extra to increase the temperature of the pool. There may be an extra charge for pool heating in low season please check with owners at time of booking.
Heating is included in high and mid season we reserve the right to make a charge in low season.
We charge a 160euros basic charge for cleaning - We reserve the right to make an additional charge if the property has been left in a very dirty condition.
Please note the playing of loud music is forbidden in the garden.
Please keep noise to a minimum in the garden after 11pm.
