About this property
Elegant & classical apartament for up to 4 with a private patio
Elegant and clasical apartment for 4 people with a private patio in the center of Seville:
Seville is a city of opposites which have learned to live together; a truly diverse and tolerant metropolis.
The Plaza de la Encarnación, a square in the historic centre of the city, is the perfect example. This is the site of the Metropol Parasol: the largest wooden structure in the world, a cutting-edge architectural project by the renowned Berlin architect Jürgen Mayer. A unique reticular structure providing shade to this public square, which is surrounded by historical buildings. Born amidst controversy, it currently sits comfortably amongst its older, monumental counterparts, integrated as if by magic into the skyline of terraces and parapets so characteristic of the city centre. A meeting place for young and old, tourists and locals, businessmen and women and those simply out for leisure. Such is Seville!
Puerta de la Victoria, an apartment which revels in a mix of classicism, Sevillian essence and the fabulous style of Amaro Sánchez de Moya, currently one of our most sought-after interior designers, is right on the doorstep of it all. This two-bedroom apartment is the result of a refurbishment project which makes the most of the architectural features of the period Sevillian house in which it sits, and adds a very distinctive flavour to its interior décor. The result: a spectacular home, functional and stylish, understated luxury with a masculine and seductive touch.
The property wins you over the minute you cross the threshold: high ceilings, large windows, original woodwork, and colourful, hexagonal floor tiles are evidence of quality and of the Sevillian character of the apartment. The walls have been painted in seductive colours: greens, blues and greys, the rooms furnished with carefully selected pieces of different styles and origin.
A corridor leads from the entrance to the rest of the apartment. First up is the kitchen, in classical style rendered modern by the green colour scheme. It is fully equipped with white goods and appliances, and opens onto an inner patio with tiled walls and furniture where you can enjoy a quiet breakfast.
The living room is at the end of the corridor, overlooking the street, with natural light streaming in through two large windows. There is a sitting area with TV, sofa, chairs, coffee table, a sideboard and sound system. All carefully chosen pieces, all of the highest quality and all different; versatile, so that you can adapt the room to your own requirements. We love Amaro's use of symmetry in his designs, almost as if he were setting up a small, opulent stage. The story is in the detail: lamps, auxiliary tables in red-painted iron, sumptuous textiles, curtains and upholstery used throughout to provide a masculine and fashionable touch. A separate dining area has a table and chairs seating six guests.
The property has two similarly-sized double bedrooms, both full of natural light and overlooking the street through large windows with balcony. The first of the rooms has twin beds and a hanging rail for clothes and a suitcase. The second bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom. In both rooms the textiles used are the striking factor: a mix of velvet, silk, linen and cotton, in an expressive combination of designs giving the rooms a renewed air: upholstered headboards, intense and dramatic colours…
In addition to the en-suite bathroom, there is a further full bathroom with standalone bath. The décor in the bathrooms has also been carefully chosen with a very original result: painted walls, Macael marble (from quarries in the region of Almeria), and wall tiles matching the hexagonal floor tiles used throughout the property.
The Plaza de la Encarnación is a strategic crossroads in the city centre, just a short stroll away from the main sights. Covered by the now iconic Metropol Parasol and its impressive viewpoint, historical heritage is all around: the Church of the Annunciation, the Church of the Divine Redeemer, or the Plaza de la Campana (Bell square). New fashion shops, cafés and small restaurants have breathed new life into the area, now known as Seville's own Soho, and the nearby streets of Regina and Pérez Galdós will delight shoppers. In short, this is the perfect location for enjoying a city break in Seville at any time of the year, but perhaps more especially at Easter, with numerous processions and services in the many churches to be found here.
