An honest review, a reflection of today....It's a VRBO. It's been a busy season. These folks are over worked and underpaid. The turnaround is lightning fast. We get it.... We never went upstairs. 1. The universal water spigot on the front sink leaks like a fire hydrant when extended all the way back for full water pressure. Water runs all over the counter.2. The washer/dryer are OLD , the washer will grabs/twists clothing and the dryer belt is so loud, the next door neighbors can hear it outside it's a 15 minute repair. Called in service No response ..((this is important we wash clothes and beach towels daily))3. When opening the back sliding glass door window treatments, the crossbar and curtains literally fall to the ground.. cover your head..4. The downstairs bath sink hot and cold water toilet whine throughout the home when being used similar to the dryer..not a deal breaker...5. The tempered glass walk in shower door has to be slammed from the inside when taking a shower because the frame is bent. Shocking no one has reported this, 6. The grill literally collapsed, propane tank hit the ground in the driveway ... But a nice technician came and fixed it....Now the good-1. The air conditioner is

condo was great, decorated really cute, and had everything we needed for kitchen use. beds were very comfortable.there were extra chairs for the beach, or back patio area. back patio area needed some clean up. boards from the retaining wall were leaning up against it could have been dangerous to a small child or pet.(my husband took care of them) over growth coming over wall could have been trimmed up to look nice. we had a great stay and would stay again.

Florida Getaway

The ratings on this property were very good so we decided to reserve for our Family Getaway in Florida Check in was easy, property was as described with the exception that neither of the sofa sleepers did not have a mattress or a comfortable mattress. I immediately messaged the property of my concerns and the following day Southern Vacation Rentals brought in a couple air mattresses. Aside from the small inconvenience they definitely made up for it. This unit was very clean and I really enjoyed the patio area. Outdoor grill and patio furniture perfect for a family get together. Master Bedroom has a jetted tub. Nice. Upstairs bedroom was very nice with much room. Loft offered games, tv, a bunk bed, sleeper sofa that accommodated the small kids as well. Definitely enjoyed our stay and when back in town would consider renting again.

Banana Bay Townhome

Unit was not clean when we arrived and the sofa beds were damaged and dirty. We contacted Southern Vacation Rentals and they did send out housekeeping and maintenance to address some of the issues we had but there were things we had to clean ourselves, like a large urine stain on the stairs and the sleeper sofa could not be repaired or replaced during our stay. We did check in on a Saturday, so many of the vendors (housekeeping, maintenance, and the upholstery cleaning company) were not sent out until Monday/Tuesday to fix the issues we had. We love Banana Bay and we have actually stayed at many other units there and they have always been clean and well maintained so we were shocked to find this home in the shape it was in.

Everything kept breaking

The property was big and had everything that was needed. It is dated and needs new paint and wallpaper fixed. We arrived to a broken master room bed. It was fixed the next day. The thermostat wouldn’t cool past 77 the first few days which was fine. When it wouldn’t cool past 80 and it was 90+ outside we called to have it fixed. The next day a HVAC company came and said it was broke; it would only stay always on or we would have to turn it off at the breaker. So freezing or hot. Check in and check out where confusing; texts, emails and website saying different things.

All in all loved it! You have the bay, pool, hot tub, steam room and of course beach!

Pros: Loved the beach area at the bay, loved watching the boats go by. We weren't for sure if it was a place you could actually get in the water, our Granddaughter and other kids got in it and had a fun time. At the end of River Road there is a beach access, but a little farther down the road there is beach access for $2 parking that has much better access to the beach with a wooden walk most of the way. Beds were comfortable. Loved the little back yard, it was one of the better shaded in evenings. Garage to park in. There is a set of bunk beds behind the double doors upstairs. Cons: The check in instructions gave us codes to get in the pool area and workout area, which we couldn't get the code to work for the workout area, someone already there told us about the key fob, it was on the little table as you went in the rental, it made it so much easier to come and go to the pool area, it just wasn't mentioned in the check in instructions. The hot tub jets weren't working, we mentioned it to one of the residents and it was repaired the next day. No counter space in master BR, it's a large BR and should have better than a pedestal sink. There needs to be instructions on how to turn the tv off, we're older and had difficulty with that, we figured it out at end of stay 😂 On the VRBO listing it shows the house closer to the bay, but it's on the other end, it still was a close walk to the bay, plus almost directly across from the pool area, so it really was the ideal location.
