About this property

Lovely sea and mountain views, spacious Portree home

Welcome to this spacious and comfortable home. This house has beautiful views over the sea and the mountains. The four bedrooms (one king, two double and a large twin) have hotel standard bedding and new mattresses. There are three bathrooms, one ensuite. (the VRBO listing shows 4 bathrooms which is a technical mistake on their part that I have asked them to put right ). A kitchen diner is well equipped with cooking equipment as well as a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. There is a separate dining area for eight with views over the bay, and a lounge where you can enjoy a cosy woodburner, or watch the changing light over the water and mountains as the tides move in and out. Portree is a lively and picturesque place, with a busy harbour, plenty of shops and restaurants, and surrounded by seascapes, mountains and countryside. There is a woodland and hillside walk straight from our house, as well as beautiful coastal walks from Portree, which is just 10 minutes walk away. Portree is a good base from which the explore the Isle of Skye. The Old Man of Storr is a short drive away, as well as the famous Cuillin and there are other lesser known but beautiful places nearby. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs in Portree, some offering Celtic music and locally sourced food, as well as an indoor swimming pool, indoor climbing wall and small cinema. so things to do on rainy days as well as sunny ones. Great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay here, the home was specious and clean, and had everything we needed. Alex was very helpful and communicative. Beautiful views and walking distance to the centre of Portree, it was great for our family holiday.

Lovely Property

We had a lovely stay, the house had everything we needed and comfortably accommodated 6 adults, the downstairs bedrooms/bathrooms were perfect for our elderly parents. The accommodation was clean and the bedrooms were extremely comfortable. The view was fantastic and constantly changing. We would definitely stay here again.

Delightful Stay!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We would rate it a 10 if possible. The space was fantastic for 4 of us traveling together. The location was excellent to work out of while visiting all of Isle of Skye. This is a gem and we highly recommend it. Book right away so you do lot lose the opportunity to stay here.

Great central location to explore Skye

Perfect Portree Spot

A great house with a stunning view! We loved our stay and it was a fantastic base camp to explore the Isle of Skye! The house was very comfortable and perfect for our family of 8. Extremely convenient and incredibly easy from day 1. We highly recommend!

A wonderful house in Portree!

The house was just as advertised and it was lovely. The photos don’t do the amazing view justice, and the house is also much bigger than I thought it would be! It was incredibly clean and Alex was great to communicate with! We hope to come back for another stay!

Scotland adventure

This is a lovely house with stunning views. The house was spacious with plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 children. Lots of books provided as well as some board games and DVDs. It's also in a good location, only a 10 minute walk to Portree.

Wonderful Stay

We had our entire family, including a son-in-law and grandson with us -- all eight! It was a great time for family connection. The entire space was excellent for the family meal together in one room, and the family room was perfect for evening games. Location was perfect with a view of the water, and location to all the best hiking on Skye. Everything worked great, and Alex was very attentive to a couple of needs during the stay!

Property is in great shape and with a 15 minute walk to the city center. The only thing missing was soap/body wash in bathrooms, didn't expect we needed to provide that.

Comfortable and Close to downtown

This accommodation provided several spacious and comfortable rooms for all seven members of my family. There was laundry services on site, which were easy to use and instructions were left everywhere for ease-of-use. The view was beautiful and one of the major draws for booking this home. Highly recommend this home if staying in Portree.

Quaint, yet modern amenities

There was plenty of room in this great house. Being from the USA, we had to get acquainted with a few things like the showers which had to be activated via a switch in the hall. View was lovely; not really walkable to town but very close by taxi.

Perfect House in Portree!

We had a wonderful stay at this home. There is a breathtaking view from every room! Plenty of space for my in laws, us and our 2 children. Fantastic location - easy walk to town for dinner and shopping. Could not have asked for anything more! Highly recommend this house. It's the perfect home base for exploring the Isle of Skye! Wonderful place on Isle of Skye

Our group of 7 friends had an amazing stay at Alex's house in Portree on Isle of Skye. The house is beautiful, fully equipped, and has the most amazing views of the water and surrounding mountains. We had plenty of space to gather in the common room and adjoining dining room and everyone slept comfortably in the spacious bedrooms. Alex was extremely helpful with a very minor issue when we arrived (tripped breaker) that we resolved quickly. The location in general is fantastic for getting to all the major things to do on Skye. I cannot recommend this house enough!

We had amazing time staying at this place , it was just perfect for family including babies , they enjoyed a lot. House is just fabulous . Babies had a blast and enjoyed a lot , especially the morning sunrise and dancing on guitar that was kept in the house . We had huge snowstorm on last day and it made us worried about changing our plan and possibly delaying return flight but our host Alex helped immediately and she made extra calls late evening and provided us extra hands to clear out the driveway so we could leave on time . Thanks to all of u and we will be definitely revisiting in future !

Stunning views, spacious interior

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) had a fantastic stay at this property. The views are gorgeous and the interior very spacious. Aromatic rose bushes all along the front of the house too! It was a very easy 15min walk into town. Washer/dryer worked well. Showers always had hot water. Bedrooms had blackout curtains so we always had a good nights sleep. This property was a bit of a splurge for us, but Skye has been on my bucket list for awhile & I was hooked by the views in the pictures -- the real views are even more stunning and it was very nice how the sofa and tables are arranged so we could always see outside. It was tricky pulling out of the property because cars at the nearby gas station frequently blocked the view. It would be super helpful if a mirror were installed across the street. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

Family vacation in Skye

The photographs of the house don’t do it justice. The views are spectacular. The house was very clean. Each room was well stocked with bed linen and towels. Kitchen had everything we needed. It was nice to have some dishwasher tablets and washing pods too although there was a large grocery store just up the road. Only slight negative was coming out of property onto main road. The property is at the side of a Gulf service station and the line of sight for oncoming traffic was sometimes blocked due to people parking at the side. A mirror at the other side of the road to see oncoming traffic would be helpful. You just have to be aware and careful.

Great view of sunrise over Loch Portree
